If the internet (and the duffers) didn’t hate Jonathan so much, Jancy would have been end game.
But no, they thought we wanted to see Nancy single.
Even though I truly believe that’s not what Nancy would have wanted.

imagine jancy’s future children notice mommy and daddy have matching scars and they ask what it means, how it got there, ohhhhh
Imagine looking at my last reblogged gifs and saying, “the narrative never punishes Jonathan.”
Because that’s largely all it does. To him and the Byers family.
What they mean, what they WANT, is the narrative to CONDEMN Jonathan. And it never was going to. Obviously. But then the blindingly obvious has never been that obvious to them.
Because they’ve never understood the story.

I really am a toxic Jonathan fan because I find his epilogue mullet endearing while Billy’s mullet is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.
the curls on the bottom of his hair are just so adorable 💕💕💕💕
You go, I go.

So I'll wait for you, love And I'll burn
Headcanon that Jonathan becomes a filmmaker who gets known for making very dark, gritty films with a lot of political commentary, and one day, he announces that he's making a film focusing around a nonverbal little girl who's just run away from her abusive household. Because of his reputation, everyone expects it to be a psychological horror, but instead, it's all about this girl running into a group of kids and discovering friendship and real family love. Her abuse is never shown on screen or even explicitly discussed, and her abuser never appears in the movie. It's not dark at all, it's just a little girl learning to be a girl and making friends. It's not actually about abuse, it's almost ridiculously feel-good and happy the whole way through.
It gets flamed for 'not being dark enough' and 'not tackling the depth of her abuse,' but when an interviewer asks him of what he thinks of these opinions, he just says that he doesn't believe an abuse victim's story needs to revolve around suffering, and he just wanted the girl to experience happiness.
He gets called idealistic for acting like an abused girl could so easily find happiness and peace with no issue, but Jonathan doesn't care. This is the one area where he's not interested in realism. He lived that already.

from the new stranger things behind the scenes book!!
ohhh sweet baby
It’s amusing to me that people sneer at the fact that Jonathan is anti-capitalist because have you watched the show? Communism is the only way the Byers survive. All property is community property, including money.
They’re victims of capitalism, of course the boy is gonna hate it. He’s smart, after all.
