Well, the first week is done so let us look back and see what the heck I did.
Monday, it was let's be contagious day. Stuck in bed with a fever, strep, and sinus infection. Time to take antibiotics....too. Ate what I could from my cleansing diet but my throat was sore so some made it, some didn't. Had no issues with the supplements however, I did take them with my meal and not 30 minutes before.
Tuesday was a lot better. Was able to workout a little even with restricted respiratory issues due to being sick.
Wednesday I actually was able to make it to the gym and work out. Did pretty good considering my health at the time.
Thursday and Friday I worked out on my own. Felt better every day. But my scale at home lied to me. It showed I lost 10 lbs. Obviously it is time to buy a new scale.
Finally Saturday, went to the gym at 8am, weighed in at Complete Nutrition at Polaris and was down 7 lbs. Not bad for a first week, but I want more.
Just to give you a picture of the cleansing diet..not listing 100% but you will get the idea.
Breakfast: 3-4 egg omelet with spinach, 3 oz chicken, mushrooms cooked in coconut oil, green tea, 1/2 grapefruit.
Snack: The delicious green shake...you've seen the picture. Mix any green leafy veggie, carrot..and an apple for taste.
Lunch:4 oz fish, 2 cups brown rice and more veggies
Snack: 1/2 Grapefruit and a few nuts (almonds, etc)
Dinner: 4-10 oz fish or Veggie Omelet, plus 2 veggies
any snacking can only be from the above list. Best would be veggies. Also needed to drink 6 liters of water per day. Best if you can put the juice of 1 whole lemon in the water. No milk products, cheeses, bread, pork, or beef.
OK, that is what I have eaten everyday for the past week.
This is an example of what ate before in one day:
Wake up, Eat toast with ham and cream cheese with a cup of coffee. Leave home for work, stop by Tim Horton's and get a cup of coffee, breakfast wrap, and doughnut. Get to work, with only some coffee left and wow, someone brought in bagels so now I have a bagel with my leftover coffee, wait need more coffee now so I get a refill......all this BEFORE 9 AM. Then of course I brought my lunch from home, eat that at NOON (in 5 minutes) so, I have 55 minutes left..hmmm. Ok, on my way to Rally's for a chicken bite box and then to Tim's for more coffee or Speedway for a 1 liter soda. Now that lunch is done I actually have nothing until dinner...OK, maybe a candy bar or two from the vending machine. Finally at home..double portion for dinner, and then late night snack of what ever I can find.
So comparing what I used to eat to what I am eating now, I had no choice but to lose weight. But I am not starving. I am actually full from what I eat. Just need more variety after the cleansing diet. It was the quantity of food I was eating. Tim Horton's, Speedway, and Rally's had nothing to do with how much I ate and/or my food choices. (Had to put a disclaimer there. You never know who is watching)
Now that I have my nutrition on the right track, I can start pushing my DAILY workouts. Even though I am not at the gym (Fitness Edge) with my trainer (Nate), I still have my drill instructor at home making sure I put forth an effort. Thank you Alena (my wife). On to Week 2....
