I’ve been receiving a lot of questions in regards to what book I’m using as a base for these illustrations. To anyone else who is curious - it’s a book of poetry called Son’s Gift by Daniel Gordon.

I actually made a leather journal. Not like this though, I made one from scratch. Cut leather and paper and everything. :)

So, compressed this is about 2 inches worth of book (and only half of what I will be binding) so I’ll be expecting a 5 inch book when I do bind LOL (possibly 6 inches?? More???)

what’s your life philosophy, in one paragraph or less?

i don’t know if i’m getting the meaning of life philosophy correct but i feel like mine would be rather nihilistic. i don’t think we’re here for much; we set our own personal life goals, chase after our created dreams, and give ourselves purpose. it’s not necessarily a negative thing but we’re just existing and giving our own lives its individual meaning.

I agree. We are here to grow and become. Whatever comes next is simply next, and now is now, then is then. We create our futures, and that what you do with that idea is up to you. Just make sure you come out of it content and full of hope and love.

Time to introduce one of my creations: 

A Hardcover 3-Ring Sketchbook!

The sketchbook is filled with good-quality paper and can be removed/placed elsewhere.  I did paper mache and paint an old book cover. The little white card on the front is actually an old thank you card I believe used for my graduation? I don’t really remember, but it was the only thing that held up with the stain and the ink. I guess that’s what matters. :)

ALSO: I DID NOT DESTROY A PERFECTLY GOOD BOOK to obtain the covers. The book I found to retrieve the cover was rain-soaked and muddy, left (or lost,) on the sidewalk near my house. I found it while walking my dog.

I took the liberty of making use of the book cover, as you could not read the book itself.

Another tidbit I would like to mention, (before you ask,) one of the holes I made for one of the rings did actually rip. Yes, what you see is tape. I plan on fixing it before I sell it so it will not rip again. <3
