Me and my journal against the world...
A Witch’s Spell Book
A spooky journal for the season. Endpapers are handmade paper by @society_of_hermits, which I purchased from the Printers Fair at @printmuseum . The cover is a wood veneer card with original art made by @little_gold_fox
Bookcloth is a reddish purple silk moire. Text block is made from Church’s short grain paper, warm white, 24 lb. End bands are hand sewn and made from silk thread.
Turned my old therapy journal into a keposhka journal. Ima get so good at this language. Trust.
Im not okay.
(I promise)
my current journal only has a couple of pages left, and i'm in a particular mood™ so instead of using any of my empty notebooks (a collection that includes many i've made and a couple i've bought), i made a new one so that i could make it look... like this. like a journal i'd have made when i was 16. the covers are made of an old cereal box, the images are a mix of printed images from tumblr and pinterest and miscellaneous scraps from my collage collection (magazines, packaging, etc). it's a mess and i like it. the binding is coptic stitch (i learnt years ago from this video by sealemon)
First journal of the year ! 🎆🖊️📝💜 made out of recycled materials including the paper 🫶🏻 can’t wait to finish and start the next from scratch all over again
Throwback to last year when I made a journal out of a cereal box, an old scarf, scrapbook paper and tea stained paper!
I really want to start a project similar to this again.
I was left unattended in a dollar store today and found the perfect notebook to set up a 5 Year Journal (thank you, kind enabling stranger who left it on the wrong shelf!)
2 days per page. 3 lines per year (except for 29 Feb 2028 which gets a whole 15 lines. Better be a fucking good day)
That leaves enough space for a Now & Then page, highlights & reflections for each year & hopes for the next year, and an outro/summary
I tried my hand at making some notebooks! They're not perfect but for my second binding attempt they are really great. I will be looking to invest in a heavy duty guillotine cutter though on behalf of my wrist 😅😅😅
I used a thicker high quality cardstock to print some collages. The paper is a smooth, high quality, cream colored 86 gsm. They all have approximately 60 pages- give or take a few.
