I don’t think anyone is still on here, I don’t think anyone will read this but this is what our life looks now

I was granted 100% custody of Ethan a few weeks back his dad has no visitation in the eyes of the court, but he will still see Ethan whenever he wants to make the 5hr drive down here to see him. Me and b/f are amazing we moved in and renovated an apartment about 5months ago. He has stepped up for Ethan 100% there bond is so wonderful because he chooses to put us first always. Well be celebrating 2 years in october (that flew by). I has to leave the job I Ioved back in June and I am still heartbroken to be honest. I am working a job I hate thats crap for my mental health now, so still looking for something better. I am going to be a kindergarten mom next week!!!! All in all life is imperfect and challenging but forever grateful for my little boy and the supportive humans I surround myself with. I could ask for a lot but I also have a hell of a lot too.

Ethan turned 4 and he’s my best mini friend. I moved in with my big best friend and I can’t wait to come home every night. I work with the best coworkers who make 42 hour work weeks better. My finances are under control in 10 months I will pay of 2 debits and the third debit I am on a 3year plan to be debit free. Me and baby daddy and his family are cival and working things out without court for the first time.

I just want to take a moment to acknowledge everything that Callie Torres gave us for the past ten years.

Callie Torres gave us the first significant bisexual character, who was unapologetic about who she was. In a time where bisexuality is so misrepresented, full of stereotypes and tropes, full of characters who won’t even say the word, full of people who believe it’s just a phase, we had Callie saying “So I’m bisexual. So what? It’s a thing, and it’s real”. We had Callie who owned her sexuality even after her family disowned her. We had Callie utter the words “you can’t pray away the gay” and then shut down the homophobic argument with Bible verses. We had Callie show us that you can believe in God and be bisexual. Callie made it okay to be who you are, and to love who you love.

She’s the best bisexual character I can think of, and she is also a woman of color, which just makes her character even more important and signficant. Sara gave us a character that represented so many people and that broke barriers. She showed us that you can be more than just a stereotype, that you can be successful.

Let’s also appreciate the fact that even though she is a Latina woman who is bisexual, neither of those things are her most defining qualities. She is so much more than that. She is flawed, strong, resilient, believed in love and second chances, fought for the things she loved, a mother, a wife, a friend, an incredible surgeon. All the adversity she went through made her stronger. She’s the embodiment of “fall seven times, stand up eight”. Callie taught us to be unapologetic about who we are, that it’s okay to be yourself. That you can dance it out in your underwear. That things will eventually be okay. She taught us to be confident, to be our own person. She gave us someone we can look up to, someone who inspires us. Calliope Torres showed us how to walk tall, and for that, I am forever grateful.

We saw Callie’s journey and it was absolutely beautiful. We saw her discover who she was, grow into a strong, badass woman. We saw her laugh, and cry, and love. We saw her heartbroken and at her best. Watching her allowed so many of us to feel represented and validated. It helped us realize that it’s okay to be a Latina, and it’s okay to be bisexual, and it’s okay to not be perfect, and that you have to be yourself, no matter what. She inspired so many of us. Thank you for everything, Callie. And thank you, Sara♡
