Back to when I took an impromptu trip to LA last November ‘16 to see my dear friends who were visiting the U.S.. It has been long since I’ve seen my friends from the Philippines so I booked a flight to LA just to see them. Oh you know, desperate times calls for desperate measures. It was my first time traveling alone as well and I am proud of myself. Although my first AirBnB experience was a nightmare, life went on. Thank God my friend Adam, who lives in LA, helped me with the circumstance. Literally a savior! Also, I even brought the wrong footwear for the entire trip. Oh well. Carry on!
Went to Chino Hills to see my friends Nina and Yssa and spent a whole day with them exploring their area. Shopping and food are the usual agenda because why not? The feeling of being reunited with them was grand and even if it was just a quick meeting, it felt like we’ve been hanging out since forever like before. Being surrounded by fellow Filipinos made me homesick. Missing the good times from fashion school and outside. I remember Jilo, calling me baby girl and even negotiating my Uber driver to drive me back to Hollywood safe. Ahhhh, I miss them.
And for the last hours before my flight back home, I took a trip to Santa Monica and Venice beach. And yes, with the wrong footwear. Still, the ocean child in me got so excited with the smell of the ocean, the warm weather and the whole vibe of Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Young and alive! Then headed to In-N-Out and had Animal Style burger and fries. It didn’t live up to my expectation. #sorrynotsorry Then after, took a stroll around Hollywood Boulevard which I didn’t know until the last day, it’s just a few steps away from my AirBnb. Almost missed my flight going back home. Literally was minutes away from missing it. I even removed my shoes inside my Uber and ran like there’s no tomorrow to catch my flight. LA traffic is horrendous. I really thought I couldn’t make it but fortunately, I made it.
It was short and sweet. This trip was amazing. Can’t wait to be back soon and explore more. See you soon!
