KILLING STANCE: TEN SOUL RENDING CLAWS
My first time operating CCTV cameras I was handed control over what was essentially 50 independently moving eyes that collectively covered an area about the size of a football field and from that experience I now know that
Suddenly having 50 moving eyes can make you disoriented and barfy and the adjustment period sucks ass
It takes both more and less time than you’d think to figure out what the structure as a whole looks like and where those eyes ARE
After you get used to it the entirety of the structure itself and all of the eyes you can see from feels like an extension of your nervous system in a very bizarre way. Like I have dreams now from the perspective of A Building and I’m not sure how to describe that.
Once you are aware of an unreachable blind spot it nags at you constantly and you can feel it like a hard little lump under your skin you need to poke and scratch at and it’s ardghgguychgghhbhhhbhhh
Unexpected rift among security specialists on this one as 50% of respondents say “Yeah I know exactly what you mean” and the other half drop in just to say “no OP is just a freak”
Bringing this back because I was on shift at this specific location the other day when one of the older cams got fried and I had to pull out the tower and rummage around in the wiring of my own damn eyeballs and maybe I AM the freak here but I'm disturbed to say it was an *extremely* bizarre and vulnerable feeling
Like being your own neurosurgeon
Also I'm blind in one of my 50ish eyes now and it feels like I lost a tooth in my brain

the next day after exerting myself too much because i felt good for once
Love playing Palworld, and Surfent is one of my favorite pals! Riding on his back and exploring the coasts is one of my favorite parts of the game!

i remember a while ago i was doing comms in a very specific art style and it was seasonally quite popular and then one day i noticed someone in my notes had one for an icon that i absolutely didn’t draw, they had been inspired by mine and drawn their own looking at my gallery for reference, and you know what? i was so fucking tickled, like, literally just overjoyed because someone wanted their art to look like mine and wanted it badly enough that they did the damn thing and then they liked it enough that they made it their icon. how incredible?? i still think about it and smile even though it was probably the better part of 10 years ago. i can’t imagine giving a fuck about anything but the fact that my work as an artist made more artists make more art
There’s an artist I’m incredibly inspired by. One day, while I was looking through their gallery, I was able to concretely name one aspect I I wished I could emulate. So, I reached out to ask them if they’d be willing to share HOW they achieved that effect.
And they were! They talked me through each step of creating that effect, and they were really delighted to hear that their work was inspiring to others.
It was incredible, unironically one of the best days of my life, and one of the most memorable moments in my artistic journey.
Folks, never underestimate how much of an impact your kindness can have!
(The artist was @montesmithart . Go check out how cool their art is!!!)
10 years already... time flies by, and as someone who heavily self-inserted as Frisk when I was 12, I can't help but feel like they must have been growing alongside me. I'm already 22, I can no longer wear stripes...

More about each of them and what they do for the city soon
some explorations of traditional garments/costume designs of different cultures and looking forward to exploring more.
the thing about Tangled is that this is a story geared towards little girls (even if it's "fun for the whole family," it's a disney princess movie, it's geared towards little girls), and it says, "here is a girl who is naive and doesn't know anything about the 'Real World' or how to navigate it safely and correctly. now pay close attention: the good guys are the ones who help her grow and explore new things while still respecting her own perspective and feelings, not making her feel stupid. the bad guys are the ones who tell her that she is too weak/immature/naive to do the things she wants to do, because she is fragile and needs protecting." and I watched this when I was nine years old and it resonated deep in a part of me that I couldn't articulate with words yet.
the thing they dont tell you about learning to "trust the process" is that you forget and relearn it every single time you make a new piece of art. unfortunately there is no cure either
