Linda McMahon confirmed as Trump’s Education secretary Vote 51-45

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committees believes Mahon to be a strong leader capable of getting the education system back on track
Sen. Bernie Sanders (-Vt.) made note of his opposition to Mahon. He is not in favor of getting rid of the department of education. It has undergone many changes over the past six weeks. Many employees have been let go and government contracts cancelled.
