Take a few minutes to think about the kind of relationship you want to create.

Many of us spend so much time trying to avoid abandonment, conflict, or rejection that we rarely stop and ask ourselves what we're actually moving toward.

Healthy relationships aren't built by eliminating all distance, disagreement, or independence. They're built by creating enough trust and security for two people to remain connected while still being individuals.

If you'd like, save your answers somewhere you can revisit them later. On difficult days, this can serve as a reminder of the kind of relationship you're trying to build, rather than the fears you're trying to avoid.

The U.S. Navy really does manage a huge forest in Indiana to help repair USS Constitution, the famous wooden warship launched in 1797. At Naval Support Activity Crane, foresters manage more than 50,000 acres of forest and pick strong mature white oak trees for future restorations. These trees help replace old wooden parts on the ship, especially hull planks. Basically, America has a forest growing spare parts for a 200-year-old warship.

No, you can’t pet that dog. ✋Introducing the bush dog (Speothos venaticus)! This rare canid is so elusive that it was once known only from fossils and thought to be long extinct. It inhabits parts of South America from Panama to northern Argentina, where it can be found in packs of up to 12 individuals. With partially webbed feet, this critter is a skilled swimmer and spends much of its time around water. It hunts for a variety of rodents including agoutis, pacas, and capybaras.
