The many lovely shapes and sizes of bikes throughout history.
We recently talked with Sarah McCullough, a UC Davis alum, about her research on the history of mountain biking. The trend started in the 1970s when bikers would take old pre-WWII cruiser bicycles fitted with makeshift frames, brakes and tires and raced down the hills of northern California.
