Raquel & Sergio {au} Locked on you
After the heist at the Royal Mint of Spain, tired of rumors and whispers behind her back, Raquel decides to leave everything behind. On a little quiet island she reprises her psychology studies, learns first aid, everything to keep her mind busy… until Sergio comes back unannounced in her life, making her question everything once again.
What makes Serquel so beautiful is that you have to people who are in love and just want to be together and they say that.
But, it isn’t just that, you know...
I was kinda rewatching the series and there is this scene where Nairobi and Tokyo pondered outloud that Sergio was weird and that I must be a pain to date him (I can’t think of the exact words). And Raquel is just there...by his side. She gets him and accepts who he is.
Because Sergio and the professor are two different people. The professor is flirty, charming, assertive, confident, and unflappable. Sergio is shy, reserved, traditional, hesitant, not a risk taker.
The professor does take calculated risks tho.
And, intuitively, raquel understands this difference and just loves like almost every part of him. I’m not sure how much she loves this professor side...lol
Despite being very experienced and a sexually free woman, she doesn’t hold his traditional nature against him. Or that he doesn’t have any significant experience with love or being in love at all.
Sergio was someone she felt comfortable talking to, but also, he respected her in ways other men haven’t, especially pertaining with her domestic abuse background. He was thoughtful, accounted for her mother and daughter and their importance in her life, and took it as a given that they were a packaged deal along with her.
For Sergio, he admires her strength, wits, and intelligence, but also her spontaneity and risky behavior.
It’s really fascinating how Sergio talks about how he’s a traditional man when it comes to sex, it Raquel persuaded him to look under the table when he thought she was pulling a basic instinct (which Raquel actually wanted to do-lol). Or when he thought she was really trying to have sex in the bathroom.
Something about Raquel makes Sergio want lower inhibitions for just a moment. He feels safe and comfortable with her. And, it seems as if Sergio is someone who rarely feels safe and comfortable with anyone.
Raquel doesn’t judge him and that’s so important. She doesn’t see him as weird or odd and, when it comes to his “weird” or traditional habits, she eases him into her way of things. There is no argument or eye rolling—she knows what he wants and his boundaries.
It also reminds me of Tokyo and her talking on the island for the first time. Raquel knew that Sergio wasn’t confident to face the others with what he did. So, she took control and faced them herself.
And it’s like...not a problem for Sergio.
But, she does get push back from the professor.
Sergio gives Raquel all of the understanding she needs and Raquel gives Sergio all of the patience he needs.
It’s kinda of funny that Alicia did try to drop a bomb, not her main one, about the sex tape and Sergio didn’t even react to it. I’m not sure if he knew about it or not, but he didn’t care. LOL!
I think his traditional nature was more due to his shy and reserved nature—trying to protect himself opposed to his actual beliefs.
And, by now, he knows just how sexual Raquel is. She wanted to basic instinct him, they probably did have public bathroom sex by now, and they did have sex on the first date, which really wasn’t a date.
THEIR POWER
El Profesor: First rule, no personal relationships.
Also El Profesor: is literally in love with another one of them and also brothers with one of them.
We all have snipers aiming at our hearts. But the true terror arrives when that bullet doesn’t hit you, but takes out someone you love.
