When I was at school, this question came to mind: Does Aeacus have any seal-themed items, specifically a seal plush? AEACUS, BE HONEST, I WANT TO KNOW.
Rhadamanthus, Minos, don't let him lie!!
“I- of course I don’t!!”
“Oh, he absolutely does. Don’t let that poker face fool you.”
“Multiple, in fact. A small one on his desk. A larger one he keeps in his chambers- and-“
Okay, the judges and Tiresias are the only souls with consciousness, right? And how are the judges getting along with Tiresias?
“Well- we-“
I’ll be taking over, they have a pretty stable relationship. But Minos seems to have beef with him the most, no one really knows why yet. At least in this rp.
I know I mattered to you. I thought it was the one constant I could depend on for how we interacted. As such, I was…somewhat perplexed, frankly, by your decision to lock me in the Labyrinth as opposed to employing any other punishment. I wondered whether this was out of some need for control? Power? Dominance? You could have desired many things from me that I would gladly have given (and would give again). Severing me from the general happenings of you and your court was what hurt me above all else.
You explain now that you did it due to what you perceived as betrayal and fear. I believe you. Fear drives people - cowards like us - to make the worst decisions. Fear, or more poignantly paranoia, was what caused me to murder Perdix, long before I even first arrived at Crete.
I wonder if I would have become a similar adrift refuge-seeker to your later years if I had not immediately decided on Crete as my first target after what happened in Athens. You are right in that many things could have happened differently between us, for better or for worse. But they did not, and that makes us who we are.
You write that your feelings towards me have outlasted all of our troubles. I feel the same. You saved me when I thought I was an empty husk. You always kept up with both my creations and my own state. You cared and laughed and angered and rose and fell with me. You made me and unmade me and let my undoing be yours too. I could say you were somewhat of an 'everything' to me, as mortals phrase it these days. I forgive you, too.
I do not know if it would be fitting to ever call us 'friends' or 'lovers'. They seem inept to describe what we had, what we went through, what we still have. But, Minos, if you accept reconciliation, I promise you that we shall be the closest companions - partners - until the end of the world itself. I offer myself entirely to you, like I did in our first meeting. I mean no pressure; it is simply difficult to write about our relationship and how I miss you. Of course, nothing between us has ever been easy; precisely why I have confidence that we have enough determination to rebuild our relationship. I dearly hope you feel the same.
Fondly yours,
Daedalus
“Hm.”
“You wondered why I locked you in the Labyrinth. Yes, Daedalus—it was control. It was fear. But it was also because I could not bear to kill you. And I knew if I let you walk free... I would.”
“You say I hurt you by cutting you off. I know. I have always made gods of the things I fear losing, and then punished them for their power over me. You—Daedalus—you were the most dangerous person I ever met.”
“And for that… I will not give you a title. I will not reduce this to 'friend' or 'lover'. You are not lessened by those words, but contained, and I will not contain you again.”
Raddie-boy, are people in Elysium allowed to visit other parts of the Underworld?
“Technically? Yes. Souls in Elysium are permitted to visit other sectors—Asphodel, even Tartarus—provided certain spiritual and metaphysical conditions are met.”
Minos, what do you think of Dionysus marrying Ariadne? Would you say he is a worthy match, or do you have reservations about him? If you had a chance to visit Olympus, would you give him a stern dressing, etc?
“He is not the husband I would have chosen. But perhaps he is the one she needed. It’s mixed, honestly. Would I speak to him, if Olympus ever opened its gates to me? Most likely.”
