Desert Fairy! I polished the first sketch before making more thumbnails...Needs more work, but this was a fun endeavor! More to come. Greater Desert Fae - [aka "Deva"] āDevas are relatives of the Glass and Dream Elves. They magically bound their life-force to specific plants, objects, and locations in the desert. Over the course of a couple thousand years, they've amassed immense power. These great fairies are known to be generally benevolent, but they reserve their generosity for those they deem worthy of their gifts. One seeking something from a Deva will have to be tested to prove their worth."
Dream Elf sketches. Iām excited about this project!! Itās a WHOLE NEW WORLD!
I made this so long ago...gotta CATCH UP!Ā Prophetic Hermit crab!Ā
āCreep-seaā Mermaid Painting practice. Iām happy with the results!
Makes sense to me.
Impromptu Bestiary Page, āCockatriceā. Itās basically a chicken dragon. Literally the dumbest creature ever invented. I love it.Ā
I canāt go to Hobby Lobby without spending at least $25. This is me playing with my new art toys.
Practice sketches. Thank God for Andrew Loomis! :O
Demon hunters.Ā Happy 2019!! :D
Abduction. I loved working on this.Ā
Casablanca!!Ā I think Iām finally getting the hang of this pen and ink stuff. I really like it so far!
Iāve never used ink like this before. Nibs are hard... First piece isnāt finished, but itās as done as itās gonna get for now. I think it does what I wanted it to do. I like how the ink looks. Solid black is cool. The outlines feel tooĀ āoutlineyā, but whatevs.Ā The other two chunks are ink blotches and a random ink blotchy face. Dig it?Ā
Smudgy sneak preview of piece #2! Weāre going places folks.
Sneak previews! :OĀ I got it ready for inking. Iām glad I went the extra step to get it prepped, because it probably wouldāve wrecked my schedule if I hadnāt.Ā
Ooooohh, spooky! I love Lovecraftian Horror type monsters. This isn't the final mockup, but I have a solid sense of composition. Next step: define precise forms and outline shadows.
Taking time this month [a.k.a. doing a challenge with a friend]Ā to learn how to use solid black effectively. My goals: 1) Produce 2 "finished" pieces a week, and 2) post progress updates daily. So every day I'll post a bit of progress, and hopefully by the end of October I'll have 8 finished pieces and a better understanding of black and white! Happy Inking!!Ā
