fully serious, if you have a bunch of stickers and you don’t know how to use them bc you have too much anxiety about putting them in the “right” place my first advice is to accept that all joy is temporary so just put it on your water bottle or binder or whatever and accept that it will make you happy for however long it is meant to and one day be gone and that’s fine.

If you can’t do that my second advice is to get a binder full of those clear plastic card slots and create a sticker collection you can look through like Pokémon cards in 2001

learning to let go and learning to relax means just freaking sticking those stickers on something. stop worrying if it’s the right place. burn that nice candle you’ve had for a year. it doesn’t need a special occasion. I’m gonna use those fancy soaps I’ve been collecting in a drawer even though they look so pretty and it means I’ll use them up. everything is temporary so just enjoy the littlest pleasures you can possibly have we all need to just let go and enjoy things while they last. the sticker’s gonna look fine on your water bottle I promise

the reason you were able to read more and do more activities in a day when you were a kid than you do as an adult isn’t because you got stupider, it’s because as a child you generally had your base needs taken care of and your schedule provided to you, so you didn’t have to use as much of your mental and physical energy on planning, life maintenance (ie food and administrative tasks), and general executive function. of course you could focus on reading a novel in two days, somebody else made your lunches and you never thought about phone bills and you didn’t even have to decide for yourself when to take a bath. c’mon
