Which is why I make it my duty to never allow myself to get so wrapped up in someone, that I don’t even realize that the show is over and the theater is damn near empty. Always mentally prepare yourself for someone’s exit.

i tend to see relationships from the perspective that all of them have an end date. sometimes it ends because they walk out of your life. sometimes it’s because the relationship changes. sometimes it’s because someone moved. sometimes it’s because someone passes away. all relationships/friendships end.

for me that makes me cherish relationships for what they are/were, even though it will end eventually. i can celebrate the amazing 4 years i had with my college friends, even though i’m sad there are people i haven’t talked to in years since graduation. i can celebrate a good relationship, even if it ended because we out grew each other. 

relationships are important to me, my mental health, and my well being. and the fact that relationships and friendships end isn’t enough of a reason for me to not have them. an amazing transformative powerful relationship is still wonderful, even if it ends. my relationship has given me so much joy and peace and growth, that even if tomorrow he decides he’s done, i still will celebrate what we had. it would hurt. it would hurt so bad. but i wouldn’t trade this moment in love for anything, even if it meant avoiding the pain of it ending

any who, just my thoughts that no one asked for lol. but yeah. i see this post as a reminder of the preciousness of friendships and relationships. people will come and go. and sometimes we won’t get the closure of them explaining exactly why things had to end. but it was still an important relationship. it doesn’t lose it’s value just because it ended.
