My passion has been history, since I was 6. Right now I just wanna educate people on flags.
Ive seen more trucks and houses having the combination of the rebel flag, United States flag, and the “thin blue“ flag, (which supports the police)
PLEASE let me educate you so you don’t look like an idiot! The southern/rebel flag is EXACTLY THAT! They wanted to have a country of their own! It is called the rebel flag because they rebelled against the US. If you put a rebel flag next to a US flag, you are contradicting yourself. I understand southern pride, fighting for your own country, but that country was not the United States. Putting the two flags next to each other, is honestly ignorant.
The “thin blue line“ flag (supporting police) appeared after the “Black Lives Matter” flag. After the Trayvon Martin disgrace. People made the argument “every life matters“. That is true! Every life does matter. The only problem was “Black Lives Matter“ was missing was the ONE word “ALSO”
If a flag said “Black Lives Matter ALSO”, to disagree with that, you would 100% be called a racist! That support of police flag would never have been created if people weren’t upset at police for killing unnecessarily.
I was at a friend’s who had the thin blue flag hanging outside her house. A person of color happen to be delivering packages that day. I’m not gonna lie, I felt humiliated that I was under a flag that was only created to support the police. I was alive during Rodney King. I wonder how many people would have put up the thin blue flag after that happened?
That is all, I will bore you with more history later, but I just need to vent
