Norma Shearer
FILMS in 2025: 25 | 12 Angry Men (1957) — dir. Sidney Lumet
How I LOVE this film!!!!
Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)
Director: Sergio Leone
Cinematographer: Tonino Delli Colli
So apparently this film has me in a chokehold since I watched it a month ago...
The music, Fonda beeing the bad guy (I mean he was superbly disgusting) the cinematography, the cast, the hungarian dub, the vibe of the wild wild west ahhhh
Since then I watched the other Leone westerns but this takes the cake!
He Who Gets Slapped (1924) Dir. Victor Sjöström
Happy start of December to everyone!
The year 2026 is approaching, and I thought I'd give a little gift to this wonderful Sherlock Holmes fandom, and especially to the fans of our beloved Jeremy Brett
Sherlock Holmes GranadaTV
2026 Calendar
You can dowload the PDF file from Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PCIfuQywh1CYOjRdiPbY3L4pW-Wwwv2E/view?usp=drive_link
About it:
This calendar has 14 pages, all designed to be printed in color on A3 paper, but you could also print it on A4 (although I think everything would look too small)
The first page is the cover, and the second page is the same image but without "2026 Calendar" so you can have a Jeremy poster for your room!!
The other pages follow the same format: the top section features a header image, along with five smaller ones, the chapter title, and a memorable quote from it
I've chosen the 10 most representative chapters from the first three seasons for this
I hope you enjoy the last one, with our beekeeper and our doctor who always takes care of him ❤️
IMPORTANT IFORMATION - PLEASE READ IT TOO
1 -I'M NOT A NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER, so if anything is unclear, feel free to ask!!
2 -This calendar was made by just one person. If you see any mistakes, please let me know so I can fix them as soon as possible!!
3- Please DO NOT PUT IT UP FOR SALE. It's COMPLETELY FREE, I did it out of pure love for the series, and for all the people who participated in bringing it to us
If anyone has trouble downloading it, just ask and I'll gladly send it to you!!
Sooo nice! I love it, thank youuuu!
As MGM never allowed to record any bloopers to maintain the glamorous image if their stars, we will never get to see all those funny moments when an actor messed up his/her line or when something funny happened to them. However, there are a few unscripted moments in some of Norma Shearer’s films. In one scene in “Their Own Desire” she almost slipped and threatened to fall back into the swimming pool after Robert Montgomery was playing with her toes. In “Riptide” she is startled when the gramophone shuts close, in “A Free Soul” the donkey chases and knocks down a fellow actor and in “Marie Antoinette” the boy who plays her son wants to put down his chair a bit too enthusiastically, which makes him fall.
Peder Mørk Mønsted (1859 - 1941), fue un pintor realista danés, principalmente paisajista.
I love his winter landscapes!
Ok, but with all that's going on in the Louvre...Holmes needs to come back asap!
Fredric March and Gary Cooper on the Paramount lot during the filming of Design for Living (1933).
Yesterday I posted about my favourite canon Sherlock Holmes illustrations, but can we talk about Conan Doyle's illustrations?
He loved to doodle, aslo kept a journal when he went to an arctic expedition, so we have lot of silly drawings. All of them are on this page :
These are my top doodles and drawings:
Love the colouring!
Ok, how silly is this, I love it!
Licenced to kill- after receiving his diploma as a doctor
The best to last. It's ours, we must protect it!
Hey Sherlock Holmes people, what are your favorite canon Sherlock Holmes illustrations? (doesn’t have to be just Sydney Paget, it can be any canon illustrations)
These are mine :

Holmes is a diva for sure but Watson is a close second with this pic, just wow!

My fav story, epic moment, can't leave it out!
Basically all Valley of fear illustrations by Arthur I. Keller- i love the faces and movements and those shadows!!!

How I love this man!!!!! He is dearly missed!
Today I watched the Final Problem then the Empty House. It was so healing to watch his 'resurrection' as Holmes especially on this day.
30 years...
I'm certain that he ideed went onwards and upwards, and he is sooo happy seeing how his legacy and memory lives and prospers in people's hearts till this day.
Thank you for everything!🌹
Currently doing my annual rewatch of the Granada series and I came upon this in the Blue Carbuncle episode:
I can identify most of the objects in Holmes' drawer but what is that golden box with the purple stones in it?
Was it in some previous episode? (I think it was put there on purpose considering the visibility and position of it but I have no clue what it's suppose to be)
It might be a reference to the fancy snuff-box he got from some royalty or other in the books?
From A Case of Identity!
He held out his snuffbox of old gold, with a great amethyst in the centre of the lid. Its splendour was in such contrast to his homely ways and simple life that I could not help commenting upon it.
“Ah,” said he, “I forgot that I had not seen you for some weeks. It is a little souvenir from the King of Bohemia in return for my assistance in the case of the Irene Adler papers.”
And speaking of the King of Bohemia, I'm pretty sure the bag of money he gave Holmes is in that drawer, top left. Holmes, are you not going to spend it?? Is it because he was rude to Watson?
It's because he was rude to Watson, yeah. That money is a paperweight now.
Woow, thank you, yes I noticed the bag of money, to think it is still there because of how the King treated Watson ahhhh
