the Philippines has been recently hit by not one, not two, but three consecutive typhoons ranging from signals #1 to #5. for reference, typical yearly typhoons experienced in our country are only up to the strength of signal #3.
these typhoons have hit the SAME AREAS, leaving these families with little to no time to recover from one before being affected by another. these photos are only a glimpse of what some of the areas are experiencing. lahar from volcanoes have also flowed downwards in some areas, landslides experienced in others, many Filipinos currently homeless, displaced and hungry all in the middle of the pandemic.
as much as i am safe in my current home, it makes it difficult for me to sleep at night knowing so many of my countrymen are going through these hardships, not knowing where to begin starting over after these tragedies. students are left with no resources for school, businesses losing all their resources, farmers having zero crops left to sell.

i really wish my country had a government system we can rely on to aid the people in need, but tbh we dont and i hate having to reach out to people who wish to help because the govt owes it to us instead of always relying on donors
