hi! you might recognize me from this post i made on antiblackness. i’ve been in a tight spot mentally physically and most importantly financially, so i could really use some support. i’m not sure where i’ll be staying in a few months and i’d like to save up for an apartment. i’ve elaborated under the cut for anyone who wants details, but in short:

i can’t afford summer housing with my school. if i don’t get into student housing for next semester, i’ll get some money back for it, but tuition is so high that the refund wouldn’t be enough to get me somewhere to stay in the bay area. i could really use help saving up for a move. i am setting a tentative goal of $3,000, which i’m hoping will cover a deposit and first month’s rent somewhere cheap, but literally anything would be helpful at this point.

This is Grga. Grga is six. He is a vibrant, beautiful child full of life. Grga is awesome.

Up until a few months ago, Grga was on top of the world. He had everything he needed in his life, he was happy and healthy. His family adored him, they still do, he had many friends, many wishes and wants.

Everything changed in December of 2020. Grga was in a horrible, horrible accident. Horrible beyond words. Grga got crushed by an elevator. The media reported about every single detail of it, including how the firefighters who arrived to free him could hear his family’s screams from hundreds of meters away.

In a time where sensitivity was needed, a lot of people were insensitive. Fingers are being pointed, his story sensationalized, but his accident was just that - an unfortunate accident.

It was a terrible shock to his loved ones. I can’t even begin to imagine how they felt while he was being reanimated in the back of an ambulance, clinging to life just barely on the way to the hospital.

Grga beat the odds and survived. But he’s not well. He’s not happy nor full of life anymore. He’s suffering and he’s having a hard time, though through it all, he has remained a fighter and a dreamer. His family too, they’re not giving up.

Grga needs our help.

The care he needs to be getting in order for him to make the best possible recovery is expensive and lengthy. Draining for everybody involved, but especially for him. That’s why I’m asking, no, begging you to share this post.

Please help me and my family to pay our rent and buy food

I hate to this and I cant believe I have to resort to this and I am so sorry but I need your help. The covid crises has hit me and my family hard and I pray there will be an end in sight but until that happens any money no matter how small that you can donate to help us keep a roof over our heads and buy food to eat would really help us.

Update Unfortunately as I’m in Canada we dont have Cashapp or Venmo so that limits me more. I hope to keep sharing the post as Alberta is heading for a one month shutdown which means making the rent for next month will be extremely difficult.

Thanks to all those angels really there is no other way to put it because you guys saved us, we were able to make the rent for January. My family and I thank you so much and I personally will never forget your genorisity and kindness. Right now my parents are trying to make up for next months rent. Im hoping that once the shutdown ends on the 12th wont need as much for the next rent but there will still be a short fall. Anything you guys can contribute again it doesnt matter how small would help us out and I really hope this time next month, this nightmare will finally becoming to an end.

My dad got laid off. Just when I hope things will turn around we get another setback. Thins are more urgent than ever for us and we need your help as much as ever. Anything you ro anyone you know can give anything to help us it would really be a lifesaver.
