I’m 37. I have had my “social justice warrior” era. And even then some of the things from that age I now see are misguided, loud, and too much. I’ve learned what battles to fight, what to exude my energy on.

But my god. The battles around me are ceaseless. I can’t pick a battle because literally EVERYTHING is a battle. You get a coffee here? Evil. You get you groceries here? You hate this group of people. Oh you enjoy this movie? You’re a creep!

There is not ethical consumption. There is no way to breathe. We are all under water, fighting for air pockets of air that don’t exist. We’re all at each other’s throats while biting our own hands!

You don’t get to judge people for existing in a world that makes it impossible to exist. Being pure isn’t a real fucking thing. And the moment you start claiming to be a good person, you stop trying to be a good person. You constantly have to work on it. You do not get to be holier than thou. I am flawed. I make errors. And I for sure am trying every damn day to get to be a kind, good, loving person even when I get fingers pointed at me, hate slung into my ask box and emails.
