found a free real estate (raspberry bushes not far from my building that nobody else is apparently interested in) and realized that I probably looked like some sort of cryptid to the people just going about their business.

Yesss I got to my first test print of my linocut for Qifrey’s Atelier!! My proportions aren’t perfect but I was soo much more worried about fucking up the mirrored nature of Lino. This is a 12 inch piece and I don’t even have any 12 inch paper on hand I was just eager to see it together! I was so excited to do a fanart linocut!!

2.3 years after finishing this top and I’ve finally made a back + gotten it basted. Trouble is, I’m still feeling unsure how (and in what color(s)) I want to quilt it.

Started hand stitching the drip quilt :) it’s gonna take forever since this is 84” square, but as they say the time will pass anyways. Arya has been incredibly supportive with quality checks for both the quilt and my hoop as well

Diné Weaver Venancio Aragón

"From researching historic twill patterns in museum collections to dyeing wool with Kool-Aid, Diné (Navajo) weaver and instructor Venancio Aragón interlocks research and experimentation to expand the visual and technical vocabularies of Diné weaving. Working on the Diné upright loom, Aragón is part of a generation of Diné weavers who reinterpret ancestral knowledge through experimentation, carrying the medium forward on their own terms. As he stated in our interview with him, “I am not a purist.”

Based in Farmington, New Mexico, Aragón is trained in cultural anthropology and Native American and Indigenous studies, currently teaching at Diné College, the Navajo Nation’s tribal college. Before transitioning to full-time weaving and teaching, Aragón worked as an interpretive park ranger at the Mesa Verde, Aztec Ruins, Bandelier, and Petroglyph National Monuments, where he led tours and developed public education initiatives. He was born to the Tó’aheedlíinii (The Water Flow Together People) clan and born for the Naakaii (Mexican people). His maternal grandfather is of the Tsénahabiłnii (Sleeping Rock) clan, and his paternal grandfather is of the Naakaii (Mexican people)."

Dry point etching on plastic from the garbage 😏😏😏

Video description: Short process video of printing a dry point etching. Magenta etching ink is applied and spread on the etched plastic, then wiped off with a paper towel, leaving the ink behind in the etched grooves. The plastic is then put on the bed of an etching press, covered with paper and run through the press. Finally the paper is pulled off the plastic and the image is revealed. The image shows a pair of toony hands, holding a pile of dirt with 7 simple flowers growing from it.

This one is from last summer and is the quilt that dragged me back into quilting. Its my neighborhood cats quilt and it's made from all stash fabrics. I originally wanted to make a quilt covered in houses but then illustration brain took over and I started wondering how I could tell a story. My math was way off in every way possible (its was supposed to be for a queen sized bed and ended up super long somehow) and my binding is wonky but its a good blanket anyways.
