Greetings!

I’m back with a new battle map, one featuring a small islet. A lush forest surrounds the aforementioned landmass, making it an ideal place for your players to hide or for you plan an ambush.

The distances between land and water aren’t that great. Thus, I decided against placing any kind of bridge or crossing so your players will have to get creative to get through the watery obstacle while in battle

On the top right corner of the map there’s a small building that you can use as the shack of a fisherman, or perhaps it’s an abandoned cabin  that your players have to get to on this adventure.

Hey all, I wanted to try making another run at a forest map, also capturing the crosscut style under the canopy of trees, this time featuring a little stream. Perhaps it’s just the winter chill that’s making me especially fond of doing some nice green, natural maps, or maybe it’s the hours of Stardew Valley making me fixate on some beautiful locations for you all to drop some monsters in. In any case, this forest stream really shows the contrast in the first map I ever posted, and how far we’ve come in the last couple years, and I hope it finds a place at your table!

LISTEN. You’re a GM. You have a world. You need to give your players information about that world without info-dumping on them as the game develops.

Your campaign world needs a newspaper. There is no better way of relaying the setting’s lore and exposition than through the lens of the NPCs who live there. They can post work opportunities! They can discuss current events! They can use local lingo! They can post scurrilous lies about whatever you want!

And your players will eat it up!

Are you feeling heady with power yet? Do you realize what a tool this is?!

They will be shocked when they first realize that the papers lied to them… Or they’ll feel oh so very clever for being skeptical about what they read! Hell, they might even want to put out ads or articles in the paper of their own creation! Imagine their faces when the paper talks about them and their heroic exploits… Or attributes credit for what they did to someone else entirely! Or makes the whole thing a hit piece painting them as villains! What if the whole tone of the paper suddenly changes? What if a favorite columnist suddenly shows up dead? What if an obituary for one of the player characters gets printed? Your options are literally limitless.

Give your game a newspaper. You’ll thank me. You’re welcome.

There’s nothing worse then setting up a game only for a player to get ill or have an emergency come up or something at the last moment

Avoid this by having 5 back up players in cryogenic freezing you can unthaw as needed to ensure a full group at all times.

I appreciate that Geek n sundry started a spotify playlist collaboration for D&D music people use. I do not appreciate that CelticMusicFan constantly fills it up with completely with Celestial Aeon Project. Which, is fine, they aren’t bad, but their music is all similar in tone so like. If I want battle music, or something even mildly intense I have nothing to work with there. Anyway, tl;dr I need new d&d music playlists, any suggestions?

Australian Billabong RPG Maps & Assets

The road ahead is bound by snow, a winter flurry that has left it all but impassable. The inn bustles with merchants and travelers forced to take a well-deserved break from the elements, and weather the storm indoors, yet while the time is lost, much more is gained in camaraderie, drink, food, and gifts that have mysteriously appeared beneath the non-denominational Candlenights tree at the center of the inn. Gifts for worshippers of all faiths, and those with no faith at all, regulars, and some still awaiting lodgers that have not yet arrived. Such is the serendipitous nature of the holiday, celebrated at different times by different people in different ways. Is it a jovial ruse by a crafty Innkeep, or are they indeed given by the names on the tags? The Star King, and Terry the Non-Denominational Gift Delivery Dragon.

None can be certain, but each recipient always finds a fitting gift awaits, just what they needed, whether they realized it or not.

Hey guys, I decided to create an interior for the Roadside Rest Inn from earlier this month, inspired by the holiday season. In my game, we celebrate Candlenights of My Brother My Brother and Me and The Adventure Zone fame, and I wanted to create a place for our DnD characters to celebrate the holiday spirit in a map that could be slipped into any game for a welcome change of pace. After all, adventurers rarely get a decent break, so why not have one forced upon them by fate.

This set missed our #1 slot in the poll last month by a single vote, losing out to The Floating Market.
