i've been playing a lot of tiny bookshop and i LOVE klaus so much. he writes music but never writes love songs because he's aro and just Does Not Care About That Shit. what does he write about instead, you ask? his friends, his hometown, his dreams? no. klaus rocks up to your shop every day looking for the most obscure nonfiction books he can find for inspiration. he'll purchase a 600 page book about hermit crabs and a travel guide for a small town in germany that's 30 years out of date and be like "aw yeah this is gonna get the creative juices flowing" and then it does, he goes home, reads about hermit crabs, and writes a banger.

Having to explain to a group of pre-schoolers that we couldn’t play outside today because the air isn’t safe enough for them to breathe was a dystopian experience to say the least.

The smoke is pretty bad in my area right now, and we’ve had some rough smoke in the summers for the past couple of years. It feels so strange to me that kids growing up where I’m living now will think of fires and smoke and having to stay indoors as a regular summer event.
