Zelda does know how to swordfight, the royal family finds these old traditions important, and is SO annoyed at him.

Hyrule is a constitutional monarchy. Zelda wants to become the president when she grows up and everyone is very 'is that allowed????' about it.

Study of gods, fate, and magic is its own academic field and there's vicious debate about the exact workings of the Master Sword. And the exact relationship between Hylia and the Golden Three.

The idea that the royal family is descended from Hylia is generally considered to be ye olde royal propaganda. That theory has little credibility in academic circles.
