I softblock new followers. Yes, really. Any time a sideblog of mine got more than 50 followers it was a problem so I'm capping the follower count at 50.
Been reading a bunch of zelda books and comics and this one was definetly one of my favorites :>
It's A Link to the Past by Junko Taguchi
Also here's a version with zelda having the red cover art hair
I saw her hair as brown while reading so that's what i went with but yeah (also i just guessed with the color of her dress it just reads as burgundy to me)
Ganon creating Moblins seems to be very popular Zelda misinformation, even though it doesn’t even appear to be in the obscure material like spinoff manga and novels. Angry Video Game Nerd seems to have popularized it.
The funny thing is Moblins were bulldogs prior to Wind Waker making the pig design the standard one, even then dog Moblins continued to make appearances in handhelds with their last appearance being the Moblin chiefs in Hyrule Warriors DE.
If you ever wonder why boarblins existed, it’s because regular Moblins were dogs but the switch remake made them both pigs, making the pig variant redundant
Actually now I’m worried the OOT remake will remove the classic Moblin design did! Personally bulldog goblins/orcs are more unique to Zelda and I dislike Nintendo trying to standardize old Zelda designs.
Fair enough. I have never watched a single AVN video so I don't know what you're talking about there. I do think the assumption is reasonable in TOTK's case (bc there's a whole cutscene showing Ganondorf creating monsters) but I didn't know the idea was around before that.
I personally don't have any particular attachment to specific monster designs. In general, monster designs and names tend to be pretty loose, especially in the earlier games before translations and designs were standardized. So I don't particularly care whether moblins look like bulldogs or pigs, but I can imagine it being frustrating to see your fave designs be replaced.
Divine fate or whatever should be kind to Zelda once in a while and give her nice visions. Like a week from now the castle cooks will make you your favorite fruit cake. A month from now your father will surprise you with a beautiful pony. A year from now you will master that bow and arrow, so don't give up. Ganondorf is going to slip on that errant slipper you left in his path and fall on his back and look utterly stupid. You know, fun visions!
non-human animal race, fridged woman (with a western accent), Orientalism™, non-human animal race, non-human rock race, subservient race specifically modelled after country from the imperial core (japan), completely ignorable side character.... WOOO awesome epic heroic colored representation
As a result, I decided to put together a rudimentary language for the Minish (since in the games it's just jibberish).
Since my first language is English, and since I dont quite have the time to make up a bunch of my own verbs, I'm using English verbs as the base. I have the grammatical rules more figured out than anything else, but for verbs and nouns it's effectively:
Cut the verb/noun off at the first syllable/vowel and then add the corresponding ending (which is normally a tone indicator like a trill or just the subject of the sentence). For verbs/nouns that are extra long, cut the word off at the second or third syllable/vowel.
A bunch of the random grammar rules I've made up are below, including verb tenses. Technically I didn't check how well any of it works in practice, but this was just for fun anyway.
Adverbs -> I forgot to put these in my diagram, but for adverbs you would just use the usual verb and add the "O as in boon" vowel at the end. I also haven't come up with anything for adjectives yet, but I imagine they're similar to nouns/verbs and come before the subject (same placement as adverbs).
I based this language on all of the Minish names in the game, but I've only played it English, so keep that in mind. I'm not sure how they differ in other languages.
That's all there is to it though! Here are some sample sentences:
- Cori lis-ri -> I listen to them
- Linkri -> My name is Link
- Rii~ lo-ri -> I love you (vague)
- Wisho-cao~ wa-ri -> I want the wishing cap
- Ri-cao~ stol Vaatiri -> Vaati stole my cap
Note: I can't really show the vowel differences because they dont exist on a keyboard.
HIHIHIII, a drawing of the beautiful Marin, the truth is that it's bringing back my desire to keep drawing, but that's it!! Surely many things in my rendering will change, don't get used to it!
