GROWING UP
Amelia was the only girl born to Edgar and Corinne Bones, and the middle born of the three Bones children. Though her elder brother, Edgar Jr., was the heir of the Bones family, their parents were beyond fair, making all three children feel equal even if there could only be one heir. From an early age, Amelia was fascinated with her father’s work as a law wizard standing for those and speaking on their behalf to ensure justice was done. Her father was known for his fairness and willingness to stand up for the underdog, and Amelia looked up to him.
As she grew older, she was often found in her father’s study with her older brother Edgar Jr. as they attempted to learn the laws that they watched him use to win, or accompanying him to work where he practiced his law efforts. While it may be a little dry for children, that didn’t stop them, who often told her family that she too would become a law witch and follow in Edgar Sr.’s footsteps.
START OF THE WAR
Her drive for fairness and equality found her sorted in the house of Hufflepuff. She found herself surrounded by friends of similar mindset, and often chafed at the almost unfair skew of not only the school where favorites may or may not be played, but in the wider world as a whole. But that only stoked her inner fire to learn to practice law to fix the wrongs of the world. She was well on track to begin practicing law after school, though she was a danger with a wand, when her parents were killed by a rogue traditionalist faction that called themselves Death Eaters in her fifth year.
This changed her trajectory from a law witch to that of an auror, bringing justice to those craven people at wandpoint. And she was exceptionally good at it. She graduated near the top of her class, and definitely at the top of the dueling club with stellar grades, being accepted into the Auror academy with no hesitation. There is where she turned her single-minded focus toward bringing criminals to justice, with an eagerness rivaled only by a niffler with a pot of gold. Edgar Jr. on the other hand, continued his drive to become a law wizard, representing their original goals of bringing forth fairness to all.
PRESENT TIME
Her relentless pursuit was likely the reason that her younger brother and his wife were killed, the note sent to her in the aftermath warning her to back off or Edgar Jr. and his wife and daughter would follow. However, the threat simply galvanized her to double down and continue hunting down the people that were now responsible for killing at least four members of her family.
Wanted connections
Edgar Bones. Amelia’s older brother who she not only looks up to, but she is very close to. They’re the partners in crime/hyper competitive siblings who drive each other to be the best that they can be, but are also the best of friends.
The Partner. This person has been at Amelia’s side through the academy and into the ranks. They’re neck deep with her in the trenches bringing people in, and wildly guard each other’s back nearly like siblings. This could be someone who is legit on her side, or who is trying to keep tabs on her for either faction to try to keep her off their scent.
The Rival. This person often tries to tear Amelia down in the auror office, whether it be jealousy or something more sinister. She doesn’t trust them, and never has, but they’re always conveniently around to try and steal her thunder.
Other
Amelia is a champion duelist, regularly competing in both tournaments within the auror office, and abroad. She’s a danger with a wand, and terrifying to face off with.
She will occasionally duel in illegal dueling circuits.
She loves debates, often having an answer for everything, and never debating something she isn’t sure she won’t win.
She adores her niece Susan, and when she isn’t working, is often at Edgar’s with her family.
If there’s an obscure law, she probably knows it, and if she doesn’t know it she knows where to find it.
