It’s Trans Visibility Day and I’ve been waffling back and forth between whether I “deserve” to be visible or not. I kept uploading selfies and starting a little blurb but then deleting it. Mostly for the following reasons:
- I don’t want to come off as taking credit for people that deserve it more and have harder times. Their journey is far more important than mine and needs much more of a voice. I don’t want to be part of erasing that.
- Because I don’t have the energy or the words to explain my gender. Not without going into some very lengthy personal details that are just too sensitive to share with people I’m not close to.
=Feeling like part of me is just afraid and hiding and feel comfortable feeling hidden. Which is honestly shit support to others. And that’s what made me decide to do it.
So here I am. A polyamorous, queer, disabled, mother and unconventionally Trans.
Feel free to reblog as I could really use some validation and support.

“Because I don’t have the energy or the words to explain my gender. When I was a “baby dyke” hanging out at OutRight in the 90s, the term “genderqueer” was often used. There were “trans” people who tended to be pretty binary conforming and then all the “grey space” was just called “genderqueer.” These days I see tumblr peeps using more specific and varied words like gender fluid, agender, genderless. My wife’s gender is queer. But queer in ways that don’t matter to strangers and extended family. So it’s like a thing that we talk about and understand but she doesn’t bother to identify herself or explain herself to other people. I mean unless they are queer too or interested in such things. I guess I just mean that she is “female enough” that she doesn’t need to tell the in laws about her non-girl parts. raredevices am I saying that right?
Everyone even you deserves to be seen <3 keep your chin up I applaud your courage
