To a point, anyone you meet who has fucked up astronomically still deserves love, and I'm sorry if your John is truly an irredeemable piece of shit, but you simply can not put them all into the same box.

It's never your job to make someone else's life easier at the expense of your own, but it costs you literally nothing to at least take an attempt at empathy.

And even then sometimes you can't do it, but for fucks sake.

Everyone, including you, has hurt someone you love, whether on purpose or not. Everyone has betrayed their values, done things that would be deemed 'horrible' by someone.

It took me a rewatch of TFATWS to realize that John Walker was not, in fact, the villain I'd made him out to be, in fact, I recognized him.

I didn't mean for this to get so long, but I guess this is important to me now. Please reconsider, if you can.

Well, that's fair. I can understand where you're coming from, for sure, and I'm not going to stand here and try to tell you your feelings are wrong.

If anything, I want to apologize; in retrospect I can see I was coming on very forcefully, and I would never negate your personal experiences and feelings on purpose.

I know what you mean when you say you can't trust people to care about you, at least in the way you need, so that's a completely reasonable way to deal with your own John.

I just hope you have people in your life who make up for that, I know it's horrible to be around that kind of person with no one else to help buffer them.
