Cobra kai questions!

Hi everyone,  I haven’t got through all the episodes yet but I’ve been Googling and obvious been hitting up Tumblr so now I have a few questions. That I might as well throw out there! 

Some write up’s for the show say Carmen (Miguel’s mom) is Johnny’s girlfriend. Did I totally miss that?

Seriously, I think that Kreese has PTSD from the Vietnam war! If not still now  then definitely back in the original movies!

So Johnny, and Miguel have a father son relationship where will Robby fit in to this?

Season 2 are we going to meet Miguel’s father? How will Johnny fit into that dynamic?

A full blown triangle between Robby, Miguel and Samantha Larusso for season 2? I’m old! so that’s kinda boring from  my point of view.

Again I’m old so maybe it’s just me but does the actor that play’s Robby, Tanner Buchanan  remind anyone else of Johnathan Brandis?

Groomed in Space! Sounds like the Title of a B Movie.

Well, now I understand why it sometimes seemed as if Lorca were flirting with Micheal and other times seemed quite paternal.

Lets be honest. The use of the word “groomed” conjures up a horrible emotional  response! And was chosen specifically by the script writers for that purpose!

There was also a very specific reason Georgiou used the word too. Perhaps she’s telling the truth? Or it’s just her perception? Perhaps Lorca  genuinely fell in love with a young woman? Or perhaps it was a non scuzzy evolving love?

Lorca, is definitely shady we all knew that! But yuk hopefully not shady like that!

I do hope Jason Isaccs is sticking around for season 2 but at this point I don’t see how it’s possible.

Lorca/Michael relationship?

I’m just not sure now! Initially, I thought Lorca captained as bit of papa bear in general at least with some crew members. (Authoritative but slightly softer than Picard and Janeway).

At one point I thought Lorca might even have been Micheal’s biological father (apparently, I was the only one!) I’ve (almost, completely) abandoned that theory now!

Okay, I’m willing to believe that the only Lorca we’ve been introduced to is from the MU. Am I totally wrong does he have some sort of romantic feelings for “our/prime” Micheal?  I’ve  read some brilliant “for pieces” but I feel like based on the script/actor choices. How the viewer receives it is ultimately subjective.

Some people have referenced the seen where Lorca tells Tyler to bring Micheal back without a scratch or not too come back as a nod to a more personal stake in her well being but equally, he could have been letting Ash know he has faith in his skills, after all they had just come back from the Klingon fight simulation.

Calling, you out Penguin! But in a nice way! :) I didn’t get jealously from Lorca regarding Micheal’s relationship with Tyler. (If it turns out I’m wrong great because I actually think that a Micheal/Lorca dynamic could be really interesting, fun, twisty and dark)

Finally, the end scene between Lorca and Micheal in ep. 11 was very sweet but so far I think I’m still leaning towards Lorca having a practical/strategic interest in Micheal as a pose to one based on “significant personal feelings”.

If in the end, the “Ash Tyler” personality overcomes Voq, I hope it’s not just some good-beats-evil thing. If that happens I want them to actually delve into the science fiction philosophical questions about what makes someone real, regardless of if we think that someone is good or bad. What is the line between a real person and a really well-made organic robot? I would hate for them to go that route but then never get past “Yay love made him good again.”

 Unfortunately, I don’t think Shazad Latif will be sticking around for season two. (Although, I’d happily be wrong about that!)

Currently, there are two personalities within Ash Tyler’s body. Voq and the lovely Tyler. I’m totally guessing but I think the Ash Tyler personality will ultimately kill himself to protect Michael (and the rest of the crew) from Voq the homicidal Klingon with a very specific hatred for Michael.  

Our Tyler promised to protect Micheal no matter what! He kill’s himself (in a moment where he has control) taking Voq along with him.

Star Trek: Discovery

I’m really beginning to enjoy Star Trek: Discovery after in my opinion a pretty slow start.

Now, I have some questions and thoughts

We all agree that Ash Tyler is the Klingon Voq? The hideous flashbacks are actually his transformation into Tyler.

Tyler, is  primarily fighting  his Voq personality because he’s in love with Michael and “found peace”. Whatever, happens how will Shazad Latif be able too stick around long-term?

I know some fans thought that Lorca could have a thing for Burnham. Which would certainly be interesting & he does seem incredibly protective of her but just throwing it out-there could he be her biological father?

Damnation!

Hi everyone,

I recently got into Damnation on USA and noticed that it won’t air the States next week. Instead it will return on Thursday the 14th of  Dec. 

I’m not is the States and don’t know if it airs anywhere else. Does anyone know if it airs in Canada too? If so will they skip a week too? Is the season  available on Netflix’s? 

I have so many question’s after the last episode. There’s a third brother? Creeley and Bessie are obviously developing real feelings for each other....

Still Star Crossed officially cancelled?

There is a lot to respect about Shonda Rimes. Even though I’ve never been a huge fan of her shows. Grey’s Anatomy had/has it’s moments. I was over Scandal by season two, I simply never got into HTGWM. (And the Shondaland trailer for her new show about  lawyers looks seriously blah! IMO!)

I did come to like Still Star Crossed but I get it some shows don’t chime with the majority and that’s fine. However, shouldn’t Shonda or more accurately the company “Shondaland” at least have had the decency to tell us the viewer that SSC wasn’t being picked up for season 2? Or whether they were looking for a new distributor? Did ABC ever respond to any of the numerous tweets they got?

Why am I moaning? Because it’s a two-way relationship they “sell” us a show via subscription and/or advertising and we “buy” through views and purchases. It’s fair to say that SSC was set up to fail. Really, the hiatus and then Saturday night move? But what really annoys me is the complete lack of respect shown for us the consumer! Seriously, a blind item? Not one person in a position of power had the respect for the/their audience to flipping send out a tweet too update us?

Just when it gets good they cancel it!

Okay, so I’m still a Paris/Livia fan! And I don’t even feel bad about it! (It’s not as if I’m rooting for a real life couple!)

Granted, Paris’ one redeeming quality is his love for Livia (albeit, it’s possessive and twisted!) Admittedly, she’s probably tied to a chair in a very nice room awaiting his return while Paris hopes she develops some form of Stockholm Syndrome.)

In short it I think it’s fair to say the cheese has firmly slid off the Count’s cracker.

Hey, on a side note lovely moments for Rosvolio fans! Benvolio is completely in love with Rosaline. (I’m objective because I wasn’t particularly enthralled by them!)

Paris and Livia SMH.

Personally, I think Paris and Livia have most interesting relationship on Still Star Crossed. Had there been a second season I think we probably would have seen Paris genuinely fall in love with Livia. But in-spite of what he said to Rosalind I don’t think he’s in love with her (yet) but I honestly don’t know! I don’t think Paris realised Lady Capulet was there when he first kissed Livia! Or when he stole that kiss before riding off to track down Rosvolio.

Episode seven...will Paris “trick” Livia into bed? Will she be forced her into a quick marriage if she doesn’t have her “virtue” anymore? Will someone walk in on them? Probably Lady Capulet! Or are they already married in “that scene”?!...Doubt it!

Can Still Star Crossed really be saved?

I’m (finally) enjoying Still Star Crossed (Personally, I’ve found some of the episodes can drag in places). I live abroad so I can’t comment on what seems to be the consensus that show wasn’t/under promoted. Or as some have mentioned on the wrong network it does come across more as more of a CW show but I guess Shondaland is affiliated with ABC?

But, on point are we (or you the American/Canadian) audience having any luck getting the show a real reprieve? Has a big network ever changed it’s mind about a show? I know Sense Eight is getting a real end but isn’t that on a Netflix a minority channel? With a direct interest in keeping subscribes happy.

Edit; I should have actually asked is Shondaland actively looking for a new network? I hope so!

Snaky Paris slithering his way into Livia’s heart.

Honestly, Paris is an absolute snake! Apparently, he’s a power hungry pawn of Lady Capulet, who specifically blames Rosalind and the entire Montague family for Juliet’s death.

But is he an absolute snake? I believe that when he first  clapped eyes on Livia he was sincerely grateful (and attracted) too her for saving his life. I believe that when Livia walked bloodied into the basement Paris was genuinely concerned about her safety (even if he did know how and what had actually happened!)

He absolutely manipulated Livia in ep. 4. But, Lady Capulet called it...”you seem disappointed I’m not my niece”...”the girl is pleasing enough”...

I think the way Livia sees Paris is going to change the way he sees himself. So far she completely trusts him and as snaky as he is I’m just guessing that he’s going to avoid proactively hurting her. She’s the unaccounted for element in the Paris/Lady Capulet plan! 

I’m still rooting for CountLivia!

I know that Rosvolio is the main love story but I’m a Paris Livia kinda gal. I want to know what happens to them? Book spoilers anyone? Please.

I know the writers probably wasn't thinking long term for bonenzo (or any tvd ships) but I do wonder how they'll write their relationship in the end, will they stay together until Bonnie dies of old age, will Enzo break up with her because he feels she deserves a normal mortal life (marriage, kids, career)? At least with matt (or Jeremy) chances were they would be endgames marriage and kids, with Enzo it's like I wonder what's gonna happen.

I’m so with you there. I love me my Bonenzo, but you have to wonder what will happen to them long term since she will go old one day. That’s one of the many reasons for me why they decided to do Bonenzo bc of the timing with Bonnie trying to live her life and them continually talking about her living a long time and growing old bc of her link with Elena. You’d think she wouldn’t end up with a vampire. I desperately hope that they stay together or at least end up together. If they do I will need the writers to show us how they’d work in the long term wise.

I love me some Bonenzo! But are we sure MM will be back for season 8? Enzo, has this epic love for Bonnie. He’ll fight for her, with her and protect her at any cost. So how does a writer end an unbreakable love? They kill of the character...which would suck for this Bonenzo fan!
