I align with a moderate amount of transcum ideals but Im still on the fence. I don't actually understand transmeds, a friend has said they are just trans people without dysphoria (and she believes they are not trans). But that statement is still confusing, can you lay out transmed ideals more? Ive had trouble finding anyone neutral. (trans male btw, and I mean no hate)

so transmeds are actually people who believe that an individual needs some kind of dysphoria to be trans! in my personal beliefs, that dysphoria can take many forms, but i believe it must be present somehow, and that a medical need to transition should be present in order to prevent situations like mine from happening. i used to think i was trans, but i never had dysphoria, so for a long time i was very confused about who i was, until i realized that i’d just wanted to be trans to be part of some kind of “special group.”

i also feel like it’s difficult to come up with a definition for the word transgender that doesn’t include some amout of “born in the wrong body” or “brain doesn’t line up with physical aspects.” being trans (to a transmed) is when brain sex (which is controversial in and of itself but is something i believe exists) doesn’t line up with someone’s physical sex.

mogai or tucutes are on the other side of the spectrum: they believe you don’t need dysphoria to be trans, and some (not all) go even further to validate gender identities like aethergender or voidgender.
