in case you haven’t heard it today, or don’t fully realise it yet: i promise you that most people in this world are kind, loving and understanding. the people around you want you to succeed, they do not want you to fail. your friends don’t hate you, they love you, and they want to see you grow and prosper.
the world is not as bad as it seems. don’t forget that.
Sounds fake but ok
good news: it’s not fake. everything i said is true. being dismissive towards good things is a damaging mindset to have. you’ll feel a lot better if you have some trust and if you’re willing to consider optimistic viewpoints.
Is this what non depressed people feel like ? Damn. You’re so lucky
i’m extremely mentally ill and extremely depressed at that. deflecting good advice that encourages you to think positively about life by claiming that the person who said it is not depressed (when i very much am) is also a very damaging mindset to have.
OP is the opposite of the “Then Perish” meme. All of OP’s replies read as “Then Prosper”.
Hey all y'all, it turns out that saying positive things and encouraging others with them even when you don’t quite believe them yourself is an excellent coping strategy for clinical depression. I know it’s hard to understand when you’re in the pit, and if I’m honest it’s still hard for me to grok, but the more you say positive things, the more they start being true. If that means lying to yourself, lie! Your brain chemistry is already lying to you about bad things, you may as well lie right back about good ones.
“Your brain chemistry is already lying to you about bad things, you may as well lie right back about good ones.“
Wow. That is a really fucking good point.
THEN PROSPER
Casual reminder that depression and PTSD *literally actually* warp your perception of reality.
“Your brain chemistry is already lying to you about bad things, you may as well lie right back about good ones.”
Just like I keep telling everybody:
HOW you talk about something WILL affect how you view that subject.
“Your brain chemistry is already lying to you about bad things, you may as well lie right back about good ones.“
Its why I made this little visualizer, showing how you need to fight ambient, habitual negative thoughts with positive ones, till they take root.

Maybe I”ll make a better one one day, with garden visuals? Might be really zen to just…uproot Bad Thought Weeds and plant little seeds of positivity, even if it looks like they can’t possibly grow in such bad soil…
This was really great to see. I’ve known about the general idea of this and have seen variations of it over time, this one shines pretty bright though. I’ve been wanting to use it more often in my own life/towards myself than I have.
I guess part of the reason I’ve kept as strong as I have is that even if I don’t remember to direct this sort of energy towards myself as much as I’d like, or probably should, I do shine positivity and supportiveness towards my friends a lot. While I absolutely should make a better point supporting myself as much as my friends, even just having the good energy that I”m giving in their direction has been helpful for me and it makes me feel like good people can do good things, and they can, and they will, and they do.
My favorite type of characters are “they’re not dumb but they are a dumbass”
High INT low WIS
This feels like Jojo’s Stardust Crusaders in a nutshell to me.
So, I’ve been wanting to make a fan blog for homestuck/hiveswap/etc for a while. Let’s start things with a quick fan art of the best character. In any fiction ever. I’m not being biased at all. Totally being objective.
Anyway, there’s plenty I’m sure I’ll want to share over time on here, between little jokes, fan classpecting, and asking what exactly hauntswitch is going to be. I hope anyone that comes across this blog will enjoy.
A little Nepeta fanart, and a fan blog for anyone that might be interested.
Snoopy - Peanuts
I watched the recent peanuts movie recently with my grandma, and I enjoyed it a lot. I’m sure plenty of people might not for various reasons, but it was a fun movie and it seemed like they put a lot of effort into it. Even if animation studios should be trying 2D styles for some movies to get the right aesthetic, the team did at least do a really good job trying to translate the comic style and animation of the older cartoons into the 3D style. I probably would have liked to draw Fifi, and I might attempt it later, but life has been a bit too busy so I went with snoopy for now since his design is a bit simplier.
Froppy, Tsuyu Asui from My Hero Academia
This has been a really fun anime to watch so far, it’s got great world building for it’s own version of a super hero world. Probably my favorite setting for super heroes by far so far. The characters and story are really good on top of that. Tsuyu is such an enjoyable character, level headed even in a crisis and cute enough to be a palate cleanser after some of the really dark places the series goes to.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit - Walt Disney
So like probably most people I learned about this cute little guy’s existence when they made the game Epic Mickey. It was one of those issues where the company someone worked for kept the character when the writer/artist went off to work on something else. Disney ended up getting the rights to the character back when they were making the game though so that’s nice. If history went a little differently this guy would basically be our Mickey Mouse. Those sort of what ifs makes me really want to peak into other dimensions.
Vibri, from Vib-ribbon. I never played this game but it looks pretty cool, nice aesthetic, it had levels based on whatever music you used, and the character is cute.
A bit of the bunny from Homestuck.
I wasn’t planning this for this week’s fan art friday.... until I realized this year 4/13 is specifically friday and I would be KICKING myself if I didn’t do anything for homestuck and even if I got to the series later than most I”m still a huge fan of it so.... I put the bunny back in the box.
Max, from Sam and Max Freelance Police. I ended up just doing the head because I wasn’t a fan of my attempts at the body, maybe I’ll try at it again some other time. He cracks me up.
Elora from Spyro the Dragon 2, Ripto’s Rage
One thing I really enjoyed from the PS1/N64 era were all the girls with attitude in the games I played. They felt strong, and it wasn’t about gender. Spyro had an attitude too. Characters were just themselves. That’s a good way to write people I think. Elora is a cute/beautiful character and I haven’t played much Spyro since the PS1 titles, but I wouldn’t mind seeing more of her if she’s in the others, or if they make new ones with her.
Blues Clues. This was one of the shows of my early childhood, and easily one of my favorites of ‘early teaching’ genre. I’m very happy to hear that they’re bringing it back. I’m curious to see what it’ll be like. Near the end of the original run they had Blue finally able to speak, even if it was in a specific magical room or whatever was happening with that. So would they return to her just barking, or will she be able to speak this time around? I guess we’ll have to see when we hunt for more clues.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I was one of those kids that for the longest time mistakenly thought Blue was a guy. I actually had a terrible time mistaking character’s genders when watching cartoon at that age.
Krillin from the dragon ball series. DBZ is one of the shows I grew up watching and when I was older and looked back at the original dragon ball that was fun as well, and kind of interesting to see how different it was. I like quite a lot of characters on the show and I figured I’d give Krillin some love. If it wasn’t for how the power discrepancy in the series basically backseats way too many characters that aren’t ‘the top 3 strongest’, he would be a force to be reckoned with since he seems to be pretty cleaver in the attacks he comes up with. I haven’t watched super yet but I”m going to soon so hopefully he gets some moments to shine.
Paisley Park from Jojo’s bizarre adventure Part 8, Jojolion
I thought of different stands that might be fun to draw out, and at first I was going mostly from earlier parts, the parts from the anime. Then it struck me, one of my favorite designs was from the more recent part. Not only do I like how this stand looks, it’s also a bit simpler for me to be able to actually do it well compared to some of the more complicated designs. So win-win as far as fan-arting goes. The whole series is amazing of course and I look forward to more.
Back from ‘winter vacation’
So I ended up having a bit of an unexpected hiatus with my drawing, holidays and general life stuff to be done and the few drawings I did get done I forgot to scan for the longest time. Then I also had some scheduling hiccups and more just day to day things pop up that have delayed me getting back to uploading my stuff like I wanted to. Things have settled down enough that I feel comfortable uploading fan art friday stuff again, hopefully followed by other things, like creepy cute tuesdays, and maybe even other projects that I’ve been working on that have been taking up the other parts of my time during the winter.
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy
One thing I’ll admit is that I enjoy watching people play really hard video games, failing and raging and all that sort of thing. Getting Over It is a great ‘rage game’, wonderfully crafted to be perfectly playable once you master the controls but completely unforgiving to mistakes.
It’s the type of game that you don’t die, but rather are punished by falling back in previous parts of the area, and boy the level design seems very well made in terms of allowing you fall practically back to the beginning from most areas you can fall from.
As of drawing this I have not personally beat it but I am working towards it. I hope if I ever make rage games that they’d be as good/evil as this masterpiece of video game torment.
Just a quick full body doodle of Lucy.
