Taking the ferry across the River Dart to Dartmouth for some refreshements at the end of another beautiful SW Coast Path walk. Straight ahead of us is the old cobbled quay and Bayards Cove (photo posted weeks earlier).

Back in Kingswear, with Dartmouth across the River Dart in Devon.
A busy bee. (on a thistle)
The view from Inner Froward Point, Devon: Mew Stone.
There is a WWII battery at Inner Froward Point: Brownstone Battery. It is now used as a Coast Guard look-out.
A perfect day for a sail out of the River Dart estuary. Across the river, the first headland sticking out into the water is Combe Point with the 'Dancing Beggars' rocks extending into the water. Walked there, taken the photos, posted on tumblr already. :-) Beyond that, is a long and very thin sliver of sand. That is Slapton Sands... walked there, taken the photos, posted a section of that on tumblr already (more to come on that part of the SW Coast Path later). :-)
After clearing the wooded area we got a lovely view across the River Dart to Dartmouth Castle, which was built over 600 years ago to guard the busy Dart Estuary and port of Dartmouth. There is a corresponding structure on this side of the river, the corner of which is just about visible on the headland by the trees.
A glimpse of the mouth of the River Dart estuary between the trees.
There were a couple of rather long/steep up-hill sections on this part of the SW Coast Path with no views of the sea.
Another gloriously sunny day in England. Looking across the River Dart at the outskirts of Dartmouth.
The classic 'Devon Belle' steam train makes her way up the River Dart in beautiful Devon, England.
Southwest Coast Path walk #9. Kingswear to Inner Froward Point, Devon, England. July 3, 2010. Looking across the River Dart (from Kingswear) at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. In the foreground, the "Devon Belle" steam train is leaving Kingswear station. Photos taken with iPhone 3.
Leaving Sidmouth, Devon. (I'll post photos from the town at some point in the future). The end of another walk with spectacular scenery from the Jurassic Coast of Devon (a World Heritage Site).
Heading back to the car... and up another hill. Sigh.
Walked those hills. Phew. :-) Ladram Bay is just out of shot on the left.
The Sidmouth esplande - it's been around since Regency times.
The causeway at Sidmouth. You can see the stacks of Ladram Bay in the distance.
