A couple of highlights for me whilst making this one include (but are not limited to): realising there’s a Kryptonian font that actually exists and I actually used it in a piece of art holy wow, improvising with the letter ‘v’ and spending at least a couple of hours on this earth fighting with vector rendering of hair.

Stronger Together…

Now, although I haven’t watched season 2 yet (I have a lengthy rant-y explanation as to why) Kara Danvers holds a special place in my heart. Nobody has the right to be the humanoid embodiment of a Golden Retriever, srsly, it should be outlawed. Her confused face and penchant for potstickers won over my tiny feeble heart a handful of minutes into the pilot.

I experienced incredible joy making this one (potentially to the point of squealing to myself a handful of times). My plan was to use texture and the lens reflection in an attempt to artfully convey her dual identity, whilst keeping that puppy!Kara vibe with the nerdiest outfit she’s ever worn on the g damn show.

Since Carmilla is gonna air in three arcs and thus having big blocks of probably around an hour that not everyone can watch live, I feel like it’s a good idea to start tagging spoilers more consistently. 

My suggestion is to use a tag like #carmilla spoilers for the first 24-48 hours so everybody who wants to avoid spoilers can watch the arc at their own pace!
