“Uh–huh,” He nods. “Okay. There are probably better tests for this online somewhere, you know.”
She raises her eyebrows. “Is this your way of saying that you’ve, like... looked this stuff up? Oh, man, have you done one of these quizzes before?” She pauses. “Do you have any suggestions for me, B-Dog?”
Amanda stares at Kaelin for a few seconds because of the clumsy comment and she finds herself smiling. Her eyebrow arches up at the last part about showers and she decides to file that away for later. “I’ll make sure that I’m around more so we can hold hands.” Being an alpha wasn’t easy and didn’t leave her much free time during the day, but she would be sure to open up spaces for Kaelin. Even if it was only for a few minutes, it would be enough because they were together. Now for the next question. “Movies? Hm.”
She didn’t actually watch with movies or television really. What she did watch though was whatever Kaelin had on when she got to their room at night. “I think so? I usually watch what you have on and enjoy before we fall asleep.”
“Oh, Ams, you’re making me blush,” Kaelin says, smiling and squeezing down on Amanda’s hand. In truth, Kaelin does wish that they could spend more time together -- all else is wont to pale in comparison to being with Ams, afterall, and to sharing smiles and sharing laughter. But Kaelin tries fiercely not to speak of her wants despite them: she knows what it is to be an alpha, and respects Amanda and her stature too much to complain. What Kaelin has, now, is more than she deserves, and she’s grateful to have it -- to have Ams. Pushing back her hair, Kaelin scrunches up her face, thinking over the question again.
Remembering sleeping at Amanda’s side makes butterflies stir in her stomach. Smiling, Kaelin nods. “O.K, cool, ‘most of the time’ it is then! Oh, and it’s good to know that you enjoyed watching Bring It On the other night, because I rented out the next few and we’re totally marathoning them tomorrow night.” She turns her attention back to the magazine. “Next question: ‘How often do you and bae fight?’. The options are ‘never’ and ‘we’re fighting right now’.”
He laughs. “I can’t promise I’ll try.” He sets the book aside and leans toward Kaelin. “Why are you… why is your friend making you take this quiz?”
"Uhh -- for... fun?”
The answer was obvious to both of them, but Amanda decided to play along to make it seem like it was something that she needed to think about. She ran her fingers along Kaelin’s waist in thought before delivering light kiss to her cheek. “All the time. You know, if you and I don’t have similar answers on this one, it could totally break my heart.”
Kaelin tries hard not to giggle when Amanda’s fingers grace her waist, dragging slowly across. Her cheeks ablaze, she reaches a hand to hold one of Amanda’s; with her other, she pretends to wipe sweat from her brow. “You had me worried for a moment there, Ams, c’mon!” She gently nudges Amanda, laughing despite herself. “Don’t even worry about it, you’re pretty much the only thing I think about. People think I’m super clumsy but really I’m just thinking about, like, painting your nails, holding your hand, or making out with you in the shower or something.”
Smiling still, she turns her attention back to the magazine. “O.K, so, since we both said ‘all the time’, we just follow the line connected to the box and answer the question it leads to. Soo now, we answer ‘Do you and bae have the same taste in movies?’. The options are ‘most of the time’ and ‘not at all’.” Kaelin frowns, thinking it over.
He lowers the book he was glancing over and looks at Kaelin with a raised eyebrow. “Uh-huh.” He says doubtfully. “A friend. Got it.” Then, just as he’s about to go back to his book, a second thought occurs to him. “Is ‘pretty good’ really the best option?”
“It’s totally a friend. Are you judging my friend? Wow, you don’t even know who it is... They could be super buff. They could kick your ass.” She wiggles a finger at him. “Remember that the next time you talk shit.” Thinking he’s done, she turns her attention back to the magazine in her hand, only to look back before she has the chance to read the quiz again. “Yeah! It’s either ‘pretty good’ or ‘I don’t even know what saucy means anymore’. So I know which one’s the closest to what I want, but I feel like I won’t get an accurate reading if I can’t go more in to depth about how fucking amazing Ams is in bed.” She pauses. “Wait, forget everything I just said.”
“For you? Always.” She takes the seat that was offered and wraps one around Kaelin’s waist, her chin coming to rest on her shoulder. “How do we do this? Is it a quiz?”
Even still, Kaelin’s skin buzzes beneath Amanda’s touch. With a smile, she nods. “Yup! What we do is we start on the first bubble -- ‘How often is bae on your mind when the two of you are apart?’ -- then choose one of the answers. So, we can pick from ‘hardly ever’ and ‘all the time’.” She pauses, watching Amanda with a shy smile. “I mean, I totally know my answer, but you go first.”
Super hearing is useful for a lot of things, most of them boring and not really up her alley. However, she does find it helpful when she hears her girlfriend’s voice from the foyer. The huntress approached and smiled when she heard Kaelin talk about how good she was when things got saucy. “Really?” She questions and takes a few steps closer. “–and here I was hoping that I could find out if we were real.”
"Well, my friend could... wait.” She smiles, moving over on her seat and giving Amanda room to sit beside her. “We can totally find out right here, right now, if we’re for real. Are you free?”
Kaelin squints at her magazine. “But what if my bae is better than just ‘pretty good’ when things are getting saucy? How am I supposed to know if my bae and I are real if they don’t have a ‘really fucking amazing’ option?” Looking up, she notices someone standing nearby. “Uh -- I’m doing this for a friend.” She waves the magazine. “It’s someone else’s bae. I mean girlfriend. I mean partner!”
