How I Met Your Mother

So, before October 2018 ended I wanted to make this post. I don’t know how many of you watched How I Met Your Mother. but I did and I loved it and the ending wasn’t the best but that doesn’t change the rest. So here is a nice short walk down memory lane but mostly focusing on the years since the show ended.

First, it’s been 13 years since the gang met at  MacLaren’s.

It’s been 4 years since Barney and Robin got married and Ted met Tracy.

And since Ted called Tracy…

It’s been 3 years since Tracy told Ted she was pregnant.

It’s been a little over 2 years since Penny was born, and since Robin and Barney announced their divorce, and since Marshall and Lily announced their 3rd baby. 

And, it’s been exactly 2 years since they all said goodbye to the apartment, and since Robin told Lily that it’s not the same as it was, and it would never be that way again, no matter how much they wish for it.

And finally, Marshall got the phone call this year. He’s gonna be a judge in Queens. 

Just a little something. I was watching it again and I started to realize how much time it’s been since we last saw the gang… and I miss them.

My body is doing the fibro thing where my bones feel sunburned. It’s a unique feeling. Not one I can recommend tbh.

Being a spoonie means going from “Wow, I really could build a life that would work for me!” To “Fuck I’ve been pushing myself too hard and now I can’t get out of bed and am questioning if I can even keep up with what I had going” in like, 12 hours.

Listen I don’t give a shit what anyone says- you know your body better than anyone else. When you say you’ve hit your limit: stop. When you can’t keep your eyes open: sleep. When you’re hungry: eat. When you need to lay down and rest: fucking do that shit.

I’m tired of able bodied people trying to police our bodies and tell us to “push through” when that can seriously hurt or otherwise injure us.

Just because we can’t keep up with you doesn’t mean we’re not trying and just because you think we should be at a certain standard doesn’t mean we are OR EVEN HAVE THE SAME STANDARD.

Please just take care of yourselves y’all. Do what you can when you can and take a nap inbetween.
