Oh btw, this has been done for awhile lol, I just haven’t posted anywhere in a hot second. (All the other Steven stuff above it is also by me, I’m- uh- normal about this guy)

Also, take note of the furry Steven on the right, I have a bunch of art of him I have yet to post here so I’ll have to do that eventually.

But in all seriousness this is actually just me trying to figure out the planes of the face. (me? Learning fundamentals? Crazy I know)

I was actually hesitating to post this cause I thought it kinda looked bad, but I showed it to my mom and she thought it looked good so that convinced me to post it here. (She thought it was ai at first which I think is a good thing?)

Also decided on a whim to doodle a short four panel comic with Steven, detailing my average nectarine eating experience (feat. Surprisingly well rendered nectarine)

I had trouble deciding which version I like best, so here’s the lower contrast version aswell

Steven universe head cannon:

When a crystal gem has a child, that child inherits their gem stone and the parent gives up their physical form for their child. (We already know about this because of the “Laser light cannon” episode)

So each crystal gem gets a gem stone from one of their parents so that means every crystal gem has to lose either their mother or father to be born.

However Garnet has two gem stones which means….

She lost both of her parents.

I have the headcanon that Kenny could turn into an eldritch creature at some point of his life and that maybe it starts when he thinks too much about his inmortality, gets too close to the conclusion that he is a reincarnation of an old one or dies too many times as time keeps going (who knows how many deaths that could be lol- XD).

I'm kinda impressed (and sad :c) that I've barely (if not at all) seen people talking or drawing this kind of ideas for him since, I don't know, IT'S ONE OF THE MOST FUCKING INSANE AND COOLEST PARTS OF HIM???

S tier steven universe moment is when connie finally realized that all of steven’s parental figures sucked shit at being parental figures and have been relying on him for emotional problems the whole time and she calls them all assholes

Steven universe future beautifully reframes a lot of stevens “mature” “growth” moments as moments where his guardians failed and he learned to be easier for them to take care of

Thinking about that episode where he leaned that the sea spire was just a test and the gems make an impossible to fail test to try to give him a win and the moment where he learns that the gems feel like bad parents and learns he can cheer them up by pretending everything is great is maybe the single biggest character moment in the whole show
