Monster Kidz Oekaki is live!

happy anniversary everyone!! I've launched an Undertale/Deltarune oekaki.

if you're an artist who's been active online from the early 2000s to 2013, you might already know what that means. if you don't, an oekaki is an imageboard where the images are drawn in a browser-based drawing applet, so every artist has the same tools at their disposal. oekaki boards used to be a popular hangout for fan artists-- see Suta-Raito Oekaki, Bulbagarden's Bulbakaki, and PinkPT's oekaki for some examples. these sites quickly dwindled with the rise of social media and the death of Java applets, and were pretty much irrelevant by 2015.

when I found out PaintBBS, one of the classic oekaki applets, had been converted to HTML5, I started wondering if I could give a little taste of the "classic fandom experience" to UTDR fans... so I set out to figure out a way to get working versions of all the old drawing applets running on a Wacintaki board.

please give it a try! you can get a feel for all the different drawing applets to see what you like, create and view replays of drawings, and even collaborate with other artists (either by giving a specific person access to a drawing, or by marking artwork "public" to allow anyone to make their own retouched versions)
