Greetings! Call me Ish. This blog will mostly be dedicated to my worship/practice of Buddhism and Hellenic Polytheism. Other polytheists PLEASE interact, I wish to learn more as a baby helpol/buddhist. For other stuff, visit @kaikaikarasu :)

I primarily worship Lord Hermes, and I thank Him for guiding me to this path. I also harbor a lot of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs both because of my upbringing and my genuine inclination to them, so I venerate the Devas, too.

Feel free to stay as long as you need while respecting this space and me, as I shall do you. Praise be to Lady Hestia, keeper of the hearth and the home; and to Lord Hermes, guide and friend to the traveling and the lost. May we live in peace.

Hermes of the in-betweens

what i had felt for a long time, but came to realise only recently;

Hermes inhabits the undefinable, foggy, transitory spaces. The explosive moments where boundaries clash, the margins, the no-man’s lands where rules don’t apply because wait, nobody’s supposed to be here! He lives in the blurred landscapes behind the windows of a moving train, half-incorporeal, somehow distinct from their still counterparts. Rests by the highway even though there’s nothing here but fields for miles on end. He strums and sings with the people forgotten by the world, who don’t even legally exist but claw out a space for themselves still. He’s in the mental stumble when you’re figuring out how to talk to someone without knowing their language, ragged edges, metal scratching, two cultural machines grinding against each other until they discover they’re both human. He’s in the liminal that indicates change, the cracks in the system where weeds still grow, the shapes formed by what we built around them. Hermes is a dimensional god, a spatial god, and he’s as much the boundaries as the places in between them.

Every time I look at the small altar I have for Lord Hermes, I feel warmth literally bubble up in me in the form of laughter despite myself.

If going completely by actual practices, I think the few prayers I've made so far to Hermes were imperfect, and I've been stressing out over this.

I just wanted to say that as someone quite new to believing (still struggling to but yeah) but having felt at home with both Buddhist and Helpol beliefs/culture for a long while, your blog is a genuine blessing. I sincerely wish you a good day among many more to come!
