Two Years Missing, Comes Back to Leave the Place

Yup. I don’t use this place for like two years and now I’m just back here to say where I’m going. I know I disappeared and I apologize for that. I fell deep into the Tumblr RP hole, particularly in the Undertale fandom. While I’m still into Undertale (thanks, Deltarune), I’m no longer going to be on Tumblr.

This decision...kinda sucks for me. I’ve never felt so disconnected from fandom or RP before. However, as the two most recent RP blogs I was using got flagged once, I don’t feel like continuing to RP on a place that I’ll actively have to look over my shoulder just to play.

So! I’m over here if anyone who follows me wants to, well, follow me elsewhere. I don’t ask anyone to give up Tumblr, but just know that I won’t be convinced to come back here, either.

What it is:

After taking a break for a year, Mario Marathon returns in its full glory! A group of guys and gals who love games - and Mario! - get together for a few days to play all of the main series Mario games back-to-back for Child’s Play Charity. Child’s Play donates toys, books and games to children’s hospitals around the world. You can check the main Child’s Play website to see which hospitals are involved in the program. For more in-depth information on the people involved, you can visit this page. It also includes the common nicknames of the on-camera talent so newcomers don’t get lost!

How to donate:

Donations can be made through the Mario Marathon website which is linked on the front page or the Donations section where credit to donators is made. All donations go directly to Child’s Play Charity, the money doesn’t pass through the hands of those who run this event. They have donation bonuses for those who donate $5 or more and also draws during the stream where you can win unique prizes. Donations also unlock levels which keeps the guys playing longer.

Remember that you’re not obligated to donate! Spreading the word is also very important and helps out more than you think.

Where you can watch:

This year, Mario Marathon is streaming live on TwitchTV and can be viewed on their website at http://www.mariomarathon.com/.

How to join the chat:

You can use Mario Marathon’s website to connect to either the Twitter chat or the IRC chat. They don’t use the TwitchTV chat so it’s best if you view it via the website. If you want to connect using a standalone IRC client, you can find instructions on this page.

How long does it run:

As I haven’t heard about an actual end date for donations, your guess is as good as mine! Mario Marathon can last anywhere from 3 to 5 days so be prepared just in case Brian (the organizer of this crazy event) loses his mind and offers up 100% Blue Coins in Sunshine again. :|

Stupid question

If I were to buy a new 3DS, not to replace my old one but to supplement it, could I still access my usual Nintendo account, or do I need a whole new one? Are the accounts tied to a single console? (And could I therefore Streetpass myself?)

To be 100% clear, I would NOT be doing a system transfer. It would be a separate system entirely, not with any legacy content transfered to it. But I would not mind downloading to the new one games I’ve purchased on the eShop so I can play them there without having to buy again, if possible.

It's my understanding that you have to do a system transfer if you want to use an existing account on a new system. Otherwise, you'll have to make a new account to use on it. I've never done it myself so don't take my word as gospel but I know I've seen my fair share of complaints about it for a while now.
