New blog: shinto-witch
Hi guys! I’ve lost access to this account on computers because it was signed up to an old email I can no longer access. But I’ve opened a new blog under my new email. Please go follow!~~~ It’s more focused on my exploration of witchcraft, Shinto and Buddhism than this blog…which has kinda gone off on a random tangent. Please follow me! It’s under the name shinto-witch
This is so important. Many survivors have spent months or years not being allowed to express anger or being made to feel ashamed for experiencing anger.
So if you know a survivor, and you tell them that they “can’t” or “shouldn’t” be angry, that will almost certainly be triggering, and it’s really cruel.
Telling survivors that they need to “get past” their anger or to “be the bigger person” or “holding onto anger is like holding onto a hot coal” or “anger is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die” or that “healing is only possible with forgiveness” or that “forgiveness will set you free,” or that “being angry means the abuser still has control,” or that experiencing anger makes the survivor as bad as the abuser, or whatever else– that’s culturally imposed abuse apologism and if you want to be an ally, you need to unlearn resorting to those platitudes when trying to comfort survivors.
It’s okay to experience anger. It’s literally the natural reaction to boundary violation, and when someone’s boundaries have been repeatedly violated and broken down for years, it’s important for a person’s health to be able to experience and express that anger. It honestly really is.

Non-toxic pet protection spell
If like me you are a hard worker who isnt home all time, I get super worried about my dog. It is especially worrisome when my dog and I live in Australia, full of poisonous snakes, spiders and paralysis ticks and people who steal dogs for dog fighting. My dog also loves to play with or eat bugs, even spiders. So I worry about her constantly especially because I cannot drive. So to counter this I've made a special non toxic pet protection spell. I am a Shinto witch, so I tend to add in elements to my spells that are Shinto focused. However feel free to change it up and use only the essential elements for your own tradition. I find it best to open a window during rituals and spell work focused on pets, they tend to get a little irritated by incense and sage due to their strong sense of smell. If I am using it during a spell for her I'll burn it really quick and then snuff it. Incense matches you can get online are good too, they burn for 15 seconds. - Rice for wellbeing and health (I add uncooked rice to all my spells, it is an essential offering in Shintoism and it carries its own healing and significance.) - Salt for purification - Water for purification - Dried sage to burn for purification - Dried peppermint leaves - For protection. I used a tea bag that I chopped open because I didnt have any dried leaves on hand at the moment. This is non toxic for dogs (not sure about cats) -Sakaki branch - for non Shinto Witches who dont know what this is... this is an evergreen tree sacred to Shinto that is special to the sun goddess. It is used in Shinto ritual for purification and as an offering. If you're not a Shinto based Witch try and change it up with a plant sacred to your own personal path. - Optional- Shide either attached to the Sakaki branch or a necklace made of dried grasses with Shide attached (I made a necklace for my dog with dried long grass from my lawn to represent her environment when I am not home) again if you're not a Shintoist or Shinto Witch- Shide is a paper zigzag used to represent the spiral of Kami energy and to mark a sacred space. - Pink candle- I chose pink because my dog has a pink aura but change the colour based on what colour aura your dog has. - Black tourmaline - Pyrite - Bowl for mixing 1. Cast a circle and invite your deities/elements or whatever force you are working with. For me as a Shinto Witch I give offerings to my Kamidana after casting a circle 2. Get your pet to sit with you inside of the circle. They'll probably get this look on their face like "wtf are you doing hooman???" 3. Dip Sakaki leaves in water and sprinkle on pet to purify evil spirits three times. 4. Optional step- tie your grass necklace with Shide attached to your dog as a semi offering/ protection amulet. It also represents your pets environment in the case that you have a backyard, and brings some energy from that environment to the spell. I attached Shide to mark her as sacred to the Kami in her own way, as each creature and natural force is a Kami. 5. Take each of the elements- water, your chosen candle, the sage and the salt and wave them in a circle clockwise three times each in front of your pet and offer a blessing by the elements. (Remember not to burn the sage too long or your pet will sneeze, and keep a window open.) 6. Next, mix together in the bowl the salt, water, rice and peppermint and smear it on your dogs third eye chakra to protect her/him psychically and physically and to bless. 7. Your pet will be confused and will probably try to get rid of the things on their head and that is ok lol. Your pet is free to run off now and do it's thing. It was probably getting bored sitting there anyway. 8. Take the remaining mixture if any to your pets kennel or the spot they spend most time inside or outside and put a dollop in each corner of that spot. If your pet eats it that is ok too. 9. Done! Thank your deities or spirits and close the circle
Good night, everyone ☆彡.
