Making a New Pinned Post Now That I Know What I’m Doing Here

Hey, hi!

I go by Kandy! I'm a transfem enby living in Toronto! There might be a chance that you've known me for my Twitter, Mastodon and the cool things I'm doing!.

I'm currently hooked in mostly Omega Strikers and League of Legends! As well as a little bit of VRChat, but I only use that to hang out with folks I'm familiar with, so I definitely got a lot of flexibility when it comes to the games I'm into (which is what got me into my college major, Game Programming)! Other than that, I love learning about new things that ranges just about anything as long as I get to hear it from passionate folks that are big on said things! I also got a big heart that is definitely contagious!

Although I'm not technically new to Tumblr anymore, I really love seeing so many familiar faces and new ones thriving over here and seeing some fun and thought provoking posts here!

What you should expect for me to post is just what ever is on my mind and mostly long posts on things that are in the moment. I'm so happy to meet you all! (also My DMs are always open for mutuals!)

idk man I'm thinking a lot about the discourse being reported in this post and my own post about crushes, which has garnered a lot of responses like this one

and I don't know exactly what to do with this yet but I'm fascinated, in a really upsetting way, by the way some of these people seem to conceptualize romantic and/or sexual attraction as an act of violation that no one should do to people they like and care about. if nothing else it raises some really compelling questions about what they think actually goes on between people who have sex and/or romantic bonds with each other if that's not supposed to be something that happens between friends.

One of the many many things I'm grateful to my parents for modeling is the fact that my mom had all but one of their ex-boyfriends helping out at their wedding in some capacity. They gave readings, one did slight-of-hand, at least one was in the wedding party....

Tonight I'm gonna have dinner with a guy I dated for like seven years, and his wife who I once had one of the messiest metamour conversations I've ever had in my life with, and my roommate who I made out with a few times back in college, and my roommate's girlfriend. And it's gonna be great! It's gonna be super chill and we're gonna have a nice time because we're genuinely all friendly.

A buddy of mine is getting married soon and she reached out to her ex-boyfriend who got married recently because she had such a great time at his wedding, she wanted advice! So he and his wife sent her all the spreadsheets they used to organize things.

I keep a list of everyone I've ever kissed, and I'm constantly forgetting and remembering that time me and that one friend made out. Sometimes it's gone places! Sometimes it hasn't! Sometimes friends have offered makeouts and I've said, naw, I'm cool, and they've said a'ight. Sometimes I've offered makeouts and gotten a "no thanks" and said "cool, thanks for letting me know!"

I've got a friend who I've never mentioned to him that I have a crush on him, because the time has never been right, and honestly, it never will be right and that's cool too! I'm not pining, I'm living my great life and he's living his!

Attraction is something added to friendships, not a replacement.

When a black person states that something you did was racist, chill the fuck out. Its annoying dealing with you panicking trying to dissociate yourself from racism. If you're not black, black people already assume youve said nigga or its variant at least once in your life. If they're interacting with you and bringing something up, its because they want you to stop doing that so they can still interact with you(if ur already friends)

You WILL be racist. You WILL do racist things. You have ALREADY done both. Learn and move on. There's no ideological purity you can hold on to, i promise. Proving you can take the criticism without making it a big deal and practice what you preach is better than any clean slate.

sigh. you are being racist. let me break it down for you.

the scenario is, as described by a white person, a racialized person being unreasonably angry with them for being racist. under a post saying that you need to not be a crybaby when you get told you're racist. the sheer fact that you not only granted credence to the white person's POV but felt compelled to step up to defend their aggressive ignorance should concern you.

you are extending an enormous amount of grace to the white person in this scenario while also excusing them from doing the same for the racialized person in the scenario.

racism isn't just fucking running around in klan hoods burning crosses, it's a shitload of unconscious biases that you have to work to unpack and unlearn. you have more work to do

The thing about the Witch Hat Atelier world is that the magic system sounds great until you realize it's essentially programming and that sobers you up immediately. Sure, maybe you reach the level of skill needed to draw perfect curves, straight lines, and circles without looking down, but after that you still need to be able to logic out which combination of sigils will actually give you the desired effect, and if you misplace a single line it all goes to shit. Add to that the inclusion of effect-altering inks and you start to understand why Olruggio is Like That.
