Who am I?

Online I go by Karkalf or Kark, I'm an artist scrambling onto this site with minimal experience in social media.

What should you know?

I'm friendly, open to conversations and tend to be an avid commenter. I draw my OCs / characters for the most part, but @/spinnyychairr 's characters are also a common sight. I have my own story called ,,Three fourths of a Reality'', or more simply put ,,R¾LITY'' / ,,R3/4LITY'', where a large majority of my characters are from.

What are my interests?

I really like all sorts of biology and science and am interested in symbolism in literature and visual arts as well as in music. Here for the secrets and stories. For simplicity, here's a quick list of what I usually scavenge for on here:

here's some organized ones featuring a little context

For extra context...

- Tylen, Chiko, Mars, Leon, Eric and Ashley make up a bigger friendgroup (in which Tylen and Chiko are roommates)

- Tuka, Alexis and Lulu are a small online friendgroup, though Tuka and Lulu are close friends and coworkers in real life too

- Leon is Nico's older bro, Ashley is Jason's younger sis, Alexis is Ajax's younger sis and Eric and Mars (while not looking a like at all) are actually step siblings from their parents marrying

- Amaro is Chiko and Tylen's dealer as well as Tuka's roommate/employer

- Ajax is Leon's tattoo artist

- Mars and Chiko are childhood friends

- Jason was Tylen's abusive ex due to which Ashley being his sister also dislikes him as well as has a complicated relationship with Tylen because she feels second hand shame

- Leon and Tylen have broken up until further notice but still have feelings

- Ashley and Eric are childhood sweethearts who have fallen out of love by now but neither has the guts to officially end things from the fear of also ruining their friendship through that

- Chiko teases Leon and gets on his nerves often which they've had a handful of physical confrontations over (Chiko has lost a molar to him)

Tuka and Siim!

Although not brothers/twins in canon, me and @spinnyychairr humour the idea that in AUs they are. The character on the bottom half of the page is Tuka (from Digital Snow) and the character at the top is Siim (from R3/4LITY). These two might seem rather different on this page but I assure you they're both equally stupid, just one more chaotic than the other.

I had a lot of fun with this one, I- grrr I really like shading fabric/pants, these turned out so well I'm so happy. The back of this page stressed me out a little because I didn't quite know where to start but it ended up fine. Here are some progress pictures! VVVVVV

I'll try to make some sort of larger post about the scrapbook at some point soon, I've had it in mind for a while but haven't gotten around to it. Making a new page or two in it right now so I feel like it'd be fun to make a bigger post about the scrapbook pages after I'm done with those. I could get some actual good quality photos of the pages for once- I never really bothered before.

Some more sketches of Teodor and Nora being silly.

I find their situation kind of funny. In the story, they both go through an arc of realising that love isn't only about romance and the Hollywood narrative that a girl and a guy can't be close in a movie without falling in love, but that instead love can mean close friendships, family and importance. So their whole point is that they're just friends but man do I want to break that sometimes-

If I'm already here I'll explain a little (can you tell I haven't done this in years): Teodor has always been kind of a loner, having not much of an interest in talking to people, which has kind of caused him to view most kindness towards him as something really special and that often causes him to develop crushes on practically anyone (loser). This kind of makes him unable to have a regular friendship as he circles around intense crushes instead of actually enjoying his time with them. Being already nervous, him overthinking practically every friendship ever often leaves him cutting contact before even really getting to know the other guy. Nora on the other hand is aroace (which isn't a label anyone knows yet as the story takes place in a reimagining of the Estonian 80s to 2000s) but, not knowing how to explain her almost complete lack of comprehension and understanding in romance, or the pull towards relationships, she ends up fearing that there is something deeply wrong with her (being a rather young child when she makes this claim, she ends up calling herself a monster). Through the story of R3/4LITY they end up getting really close and by the end they both have learned that love doesn't have to mean something romantic, but can instead mean strong friendships and a feeling of family, which is what they have.

I'll write some better explanation of their dynamic some other time but this is the gist of their arc.

I enjoy these two, although I haven't made any coloured drawings of either of them in over a year I find myself making little comics all the time. The one with long hair is Teodor and the taller one is Nora, they're the two main characters of R3/4LITY :). I'm constantly kind of stumped with where to even start explaining my story on this blog.. I'll get to it some day.
