That drive from the airport after Mexico was pretty long. If you mean a time when I was the driver, I suppose in February when I drove home to Lansing, and back. Why? Do you like long drives, or something? @nickduval-wmu

So I keep hearing that getting lost in a haze of coffee and schoolwork is not, in fact, a good thing, and I shouldn’t do it anymore. Sounds fake, but I have a water bottle and a shiny new (reluctant) appreciation for self care. (I know, right? I’m as shocked as all of you, we’ll see how long I can keep this up.)

In the interests of taking a break from my study outlines: I want to know what everyone’s summer plans are. And if you don’t have plans yet, what would you like to do? I know we just got back from spring break, but all the more reason to look ahead to something positive, right?

Who is saying that? I mean, I don't drink any coffee or get lost in school work, so I don't have any opinion on that, but I can't see it being a terrible thing. Anyway, welcome to the world of drinking water and self care. What's your self care activity of choice?

I'll probably go home for a bit, then travel around before I start summer conditioning for football. What about you?

Absolutely nothing, that blackout was horrible. I guess branching out and meeting new people I probably wouldn't have met otherwise. Did you have a favorite thing about it? Didn't you make out with a bunch of people that night?

"Do you not like to drink?" Mercedes asked, taking a healthy sip from her glass. She hadn't heard of Dave being big into drinking back home, so she figured he might let loose on the trip, but it didn't seem like that would be the case.

"Honey, everyone is happier than during the blackout." She stated with a chuckle. "I want to go dancing at some point I think, maybe go exploring - but mainly just partying. What about you, boo?"

"Yeah, I do. I'm not a crazy drinker, but I enjoy having a drink or two. I don't know how much I'd actually need to drink to get as hammered as everyone seems to be." And he wasn't looking to find out. He didn't want to risk acting silly, & letting his secret slip. "Drank like half a bottle of Hpnotiq once, and just felt a light buzz." He was probably more drunk than he actually realized, that time.

"You were having a full on break down, though. But yeah, I'm sure it's true for everyone. Cool, let's go dancing, right now" He mentioned. "I want to go hike and see the caves and pyramids. Cody and I are throwing a party."

As this is the first spring break I've been able to enjoy personally, I don't plan on letting myself suffer at the hands of a hangover either. That sounds miserable. But now that it's Thursday, have you considered yourself caught up on your sleep? Is there anything you'd really like to accomplish before Sunday? As I'm trying to stay out of the bungalow as much as possible, so consider this an invitation to get out of yours.

For the most part, yes. Kinda been out late these last few nights, but I'm not complaining either. Uh, I still need to do some souvenir shopping... and those glass bottom boat tours look like they'd be pretty cool. Do you want to do either?

California. Southern LA, if you wanna get specific. Yeah, seeing the caves and waterfalls on a hike would be sick. Sounds good about the whole Cuba thing. And yeah, we're hanging out. Reconnecting. But I don't know if she'll wanna come. I'm already taking up some of her time this week, so I don't wanna push my luck. She can have some girl time, and we can have some guy time. Anyways, how's the relaxing treating you? You catching up on sleep after all the late nights slaving over work and studying for mid-terms?

Oh, nice. Surfing’s a big thing in California, right? Okay, I looked into it. Apparently, the best option for getting to Cuba is to take a plane. Especially if we wanna go to Havana. I guess it’s further inland, or something. So, let's just do the hike? Cool, guy time sounds good. Yeah, relaxing is going well. I fell asleep on the beach for a couple hours the first day. Luckily, I was in the shade. What’ve you been up to?

Artie wasn't anywhere close to done with this vacation and already dreaded going back home. He wasn't going to let it stop him from enjoying what little time they had left in Mexico by focusing on the negative. Thankfully the weather decided to cooperate while he waited at the lounge chairs near the bar, drink in hand. He was going miss that aspect of Spring Break without a doubt.

Dave had expressed wanting to try Artie's preferred drink, so he ordered one for his new friend and savored the taste of his own while the sun beamed down on him. Artie was still getting to know some of the crew on the trip, but Dave seemed cool during the blackout and him offering to help Artie get around meant a lot. While he never liked the pity, he appreciated the kindness. He felt Dave was being genuine. Spotting the tall guy across the sand, Artie waved, pushing his sunglasses to the top of his head so Dave could better see his face.

"Got you a lounger and that gin and juice." Artie gestured to the chair and table beside him, a bright smile lighting up. "We can always do a bar crawl or something if you'd rather."

Dave approached the familiar face with a smile and a nod. "Thanks, dude." He said, pulling off his sunglasses as well. Wearing his black swim trunks adorned with neon-colored stripes, a loose tank, and stylish yet comfortable shoes, he settled onto a lounger, and he picked up his drink. "This is good for now. We can always bar crawl later." He suggested, knowing that vacation towns typically boasted bars within close proximity to one another. "Totally up to you, though." Dave added, trying to be accommodating.

The athlete wasn't known for being the most kind or welcoming person. Though, that seemed to be the side he showed Artie most. Even if, those gestures were driven more by his attraction towards him than a genuine kindness. Something he had no plans to reveal, because he still wanted to befriend the man.

Finally, taking a sip of his drink, he remarked, "That's good." Enjoying the sweetness mingled with the gin. "That reminds me. Have you checked out any Mexican candy stores? They have so many different gummy candy here, some you probably can't even get in America." He recalled their conversation about gummies during the blackout. "Last time I visited Mexico, I remember filling my carry-on with snacks to last me a whole year." He laughed.

Really? It's good stuff. Pretty much just gin with your choice of juice. I like it with orange and grapefruit myself. Sweet! Wanna meet up tomorrow? It's beautiful man. I don't wanna go home anytime soon. How about you? I am, thanks. It's taken a little maneuvering but I'm got it down well enough now.

I'll definitely take your recommendation. Tomorrow works for me. Yeah, it's nice to just be able to sit and relax all day. I am getting to that point where I miss sleeping in my big bed all to myself, but I am enjoying everything else. Cool, if you ever need help getting around or anything, let me know.

Now that's what I'm talking about. I think the two of you will do an amazing job as key masters. If either of you need a break from your duties though just let me know. As for the bed situation I don't really care where I end up. I mean I'd probably be lying if I said I didn't want the bed, and I'm not afraid to share the bed with big bad Karofsky. Though also happy to take the couch. I'll let you two decide!

Thank you, Hunter. And Dave, you do realise it's a double-sized pull-out and not a tiny couch, right? I'm sure you guys would fit on it just as comfortably as I would. You also forgot that Jesse needs a place to sleep as well, and I don't think that an inflatable mattress is a good idea, as it would only be a matter of time before someone drunkenly trips over it if you ask me. So you're really going to have to share that bed with someone, I'm afraid.

But fine, I don't mind taking the couch. Until I have key duty, that is. I don't really mind who I share with, though, so I suppose we can let Jesse and Dave decide.

Yeah, but if you trip over an inflatable mattress you, you land on the mattress. Also have you seen the boardwalk outside the bungalows? The only thing to keep people from falling into the water is rope. I really hope none of us get that drunk. Or at least sober up before we try walking it.  But, anyway, I didn’t realize that about the couch. It looked small in the picture. So, we’ll do two on the bed and two on the couch. I don’t care who I share with. *looks at @wmuhunterclarington like okay you and me* I guess Hunter and I can share. You and Jesse take the couch, the first night. We’ll alternate, or whatever.

That's your plan for the whole week? Sleep on the beach? Surely you must do something other than that! I know I want to see the sights, all the hot spots. As early in the morning as they'll allow and sleep during the high points to avoid heat exhaustion. But no, I haven't been to Cancun, let alone Mexico, before now. Glad to cross it off my list of places to visit before I die.

No, I'm sure a day or two of relaxing will be enough. I just wanna catch up on some much needed sleep. That's a good idea. The heat can be a bitch, and I'm sure you'll be drinking too? I'm taking it easy the first few nights. Last spring break, I got a terrible hangover after the first night. I was down a couple days. I don't wanna repeat that.

If we’re talking coconut-inspired I’ll go with a Malibu cola. Probably watermelon margaritas @karofskyy

I don't believe I've had a Malibu Cola, so you'll have to introduce me while we're on this trip, David. But I can agree that I am a sucker for anything watermelon. It isn't a cocktail, but I could drink those Seagrams escapes "Jamaican Me Happy" like my life depended on it and that's dangerous territory.

I think it's basically a rum & coke, but with that Malibu rum. It's not bad. Yeah, watermelon anything is good. Interesting. We both like watermelon and Thai food. Wonder what else we have in common. I've tried those. I can't remember what flavor. So, getting you some of those wouldn't be a good idea?
