General Appearance: Eros has dark long hair that falls over his perfectly sculpted face. Sharp green eyes, and a tall built frame. He has Hawk-like wings that extend from his back. Brown and speckled.

Personality: He can be rather sarcastic like his mother but has a generous spirit like both of his parents. He's charitable and kind, but can get a hot temper if pushed too far.

Special Talents: Eros takes after his father in mutation and has the ability to fly and spot things from the sky like a hawk. His mother also taught him how to do archery.

It’s not a real date. The fact that Warren had to remind himself multiple times tonight was already a bit of a problem for him. He found himself thinking it the moment he saw her all made up like it was a real date, then again as he helped her out of the car, and finally now. As the two of them sat across from each other at a candlelit table. His heart beating fast and hard in his chest. If it wasn’t a real date… why did it feel so much like one? He was like a teenager again. On a date with a girl who didn’t know about his mutation. Drowning in first date jitters. Even if deep down he knew that none of this really mattered. It wasn’t like this changed their friendship, right? He really didn’t want to ruin what they had but… wow. She looked so good tonight and he felt so into her. Everything in him was drawing him to her like a magnet. “So,” He finally spoke again. “What do you think about getting wine?”

Kate didn’t know why she was so nervous or why it felt like her stomach was doing flips, trying to win its own gymnastics competition. It wasn’t as if this was a real first date that was going to go anywhere. It was just a fun excuse to hangout. A fun excuse that had led to a three hour crisis to pick out a dress. "Wine?" she asked, the surprise evident in the word as it fell from her lips. A quick nod followed with the fear that he would try to change the suggestion to something less intoxicating. Maybe a glass of wine would be just enough to remind Kate of the reality of the situation instead of lingering on a fantasy that only existed in her head and heart. "Yeah, wine. Wine for sure." The dark haired woman nodded in agreement. Waving down a waiter who happened a little too close to the table, she smiled politely as they approached. "Can we get a bottle for the table?” Pausing, she turned to look at Warren. "Red? Do you have a preference?" The nerves she had worked so hard to bury away and conceal, bubbled to the surface.

“Those are a lot of adjectives.” Billy noted with a crinkle of distaste with his nose. “Where does he get off saying that stuff?” He challenged with dislike clear in his expression. “Like seriously, where’s the justification?” Guy sounded like a dick.

“I know.” Kate agreed, still disgusted by the encounter that had occurred between her and the stranger. It had been uncomfortable to say the least. “Ew, hopefully not anywhere near me.” She wasn’t usually a super judgmental person but the stranger had put a bad taste in her mouth, one she was still actively working to rinse out. “It was gross. So gross.”

Noticing a piece of Lucky hair on the arm of her all black suit, she picked at it until she finally got ahold of it. Plucking it off the suit, she dropped it off the table before looking at Pietro. “Sorry.” She offered an awkward smile at him. This wasn’t the first date she had been on, not even close, but something about it made her feel uncomfortable. Not in the way that first dates were uncomfortable, but in an unsure kind of way. Kate couldn’t identify her feelings. “This place is nice.” She commented, trying to make conversation.

Gwen quietly lets out a heavy breath before whispering. “I’ve already learned that the hard way.” Though she was not yet ready to run straight back into the thick of danger; she needed to learn how to better protect herself. That night in the clock tower she had given into the chaos of fear and missed at least two chances to get to safety. Another silent yet heavy breath escapes her as she thinks ‘I will not make that mistake again’.

What did that mean? She had learned that the hard way? It wasn’t like the blonde was dead, probably just exaggerating like she had almost died because she had caved to fear before. It was a fair assumption. “Just stay behind me, okay?” Kate turned back to look at the blonde, bow still aimed at her target. Turning her head back at her target, she let go of the string, sending the arrow flying right into the leg of the assailant.

“You didn’t see her when I was alone with her. She was pushy.” He asserted. She said he could always count on her to be his girlfriend and his heart foolishly skipped a beat. He loved the way she said it. How she was smiling when she had. Sure, it was just a joke but for a moment he could pretend like it wasn’t and imagine a universe where he got over himself and properly asked her out instead of running away with the charity as an excuse. “I’d let you save my life anytime.” He said without thinking. Well aware that he was supposed to be an X-Men who was completely capable of saving himself. In situations like this and in actual dire situations. Warren blinked with confusion when she asked if he was talking to someone behind her. His gaze never leaving her face. “No.” He said, a little too seriously. Before forcing himself to try and get back to the joking nature of their friendship. “Who else would I be talking to? The pushy girl from earlier?” Picking up his glass he took a drink of it. Why was he being such a disaster right now? They were planning a fake date and he was acting like it was actually something to be a little nervous about. After drinking, Warren cleared his throat and faced her again. “So… what have you been doing while I was away? Anything interesting?”

“That was more than pushy, but okay.” Being pushy was pressuring people into keeping plans they were trying to cancel, not trying to force yourself onto someone after they had already politely declined you. That was high-pressure. “Anytime?” Warren didn’t need saving, and maybe that was why Kate’s breath caught in her lungs when he said that he would let her save him anytime. It was a testament to his trust in her because she, unlike him, wasn’t gifted with any sort of power. All she had was a black belt, a bow, and determination. “No?” Her brows pulled together in confusion. “I hope not.” She said to herself a little too loudly. “Waiting for you to get back.” Kate replied without missing a beat. There was a moment of silence where she thought she might let that answer hang in the air to see how he reacted to it, but instead she cleared her throat and rubbed her bottom lip nervously. “I’ve been taking Lucky on a bunch of walks, making sure he’s not cooped up. Hero stuff. The usual.” That seemed like a safer bet and was a little more honest. It wasn’t like she had been sitting in her apartment yearning for his return the entire time he was gone. “What about you? Where did you migrate to?”

He had been honest about his growing love for her but he had also meant what he said if she cared for another that he’d never stand in her way. After all their friendship was something he treasured and wouldn’t want it destroyed for something as silly as his feelings. “You know what, if I made you uncomfortable we can just forget it Kate” He whispered looking at her, he’d never force her if she truly didn’t want to go. He chuckled at her words shaking his head “You know going to the Circus is more of a fourth date kind of thing you gotta really care to brave those scary clowns for someone.” He teased before turning a bit more serious “When did you want to go?”

“You didn’t.” She shook her head. Pietro had been a close friend, and he hadn’t done anything wrong. She didn’t want him to feel like he had. No one could control their feelings. “Oh?” Her brows raised at Pietro’s teasing. “I didn’t realize the circus was a a fourth date kind of thing. I guess I can only go on three dates with you.” She replied playfully, making sure that it was clear in her tone that she was only joking. The last thing she wanted to do was purposefully hurt his feelings. Thinking back to her upcoming fake date with Warren, she pulled her lip between her teeth. “How about Thursday?” It wasn’t the most normal day for a date, but she would be busy Friday and she wanted to use the Pietro date as practice for the Warren date.

But that was why she had Jean to bounce ideas off of, although she didn’t think Jean liked it as much as she did. “It was just one kiss. It was so that donor would leave him alone. You can’t be a real donor if you need something to donate.”

His fingers tapped absentmindedly against the edge of his glass. Too light to make any sound, or was his heart simply too loud to hear it? His nerves never got him like this. At least, they hadn’t gotten to him for months now. Not since he left New York and flew across the country like the migratory bird he’d pretended to be so she wouldn’t see him moulting. It was crazy how quick all those feelings had come back to him. The moment he got too close to her, he could feel it all come back to him. The ghosts of his feelings from months ago- back again to haunt him. Maybe he could fight them all off. Try once again to go back down the ‘friends’ route. Like he hadn’t already failed at it before with every kiss he stole and every passing glance he aimed her way. Friends don’t act the way he did when it came to her. He was always terrible at being her friend.

Warren practically shuddered at her words. “That donor! She was so pushy.” He complained. “Seriously, I don’t think I’ve felt that uncomfortable in a long time. You practically saved my life by agreeing to be my girlfriend.” He told her. Forgetting to add in an all too important word. My girlfriend. He tried not to linger on the way it felt to say it out loud. Finally, she spoke. Asking him what to wear. Breaking him free of his own thoughts. “Wear something nice,” He replied. Glancing back at her. Who was he kidding. Everything she wore was nice. Or maybe everything she wore just looked nice on her. “Something formal.” He corrected himself. “You look nice in everything.”

“Is that what we’re calling what that was? Pushy?” Kate asked, a humored laugh passing through her lips. “Well, you can always count on me to be your girlfriend.” Girlfriend. It wasn’t the first time she had used the word, having actually been a few people’s girlfriend before, but this felt different. It felt new. The word lingered in the air between them for a moment before she cleared her throat. “And to practically save your life.” Kate would always try to be there for people that couldn’t help themselves, whether it be a mugging or her friend desperately trying to get himself out an awkward situation. Tonight it just happened to be the latter. “Something nice?” That was vague and not a bit helpful. Something nice meant something different to everyone. What was he expecting her to wear? Gala nice or first date nice? Those two things were very different and required different amounts of effort. That thought hit her like a train, knocking the air right from her lungs. Why did she care about putting in effort for a fake date with one of her closest friends? It didn’t matter. None of it was real. It was only for charity. “Okay,” she nodded, swallowing the thought that refused to disappear. “Are you talking to someone behind me?” Kate half-teased, turning in the stool to make sure there wasn’t someone behind her that he might have been talking to over her shoulder. No one was there. Turning back around, she took another sip from the glass in her hand before setting it back down on the wood of the bar. Her fingertips traced the rim nervously.

“I’ll have you know I’ve been also working on my entrances too, Just wait the next time I arrive at our place it will be with a quite the bam” Pietro teased the other smirking softly after all it was nice to make grand entrances with all eyes on you even if it was just for a moment. He knew Wanda was right, they needed to talk and even if it turned out horrible he’d always be there for her because outside of his love for her, he cared for his best friend. “Well… I know we kinda haven’t talked about it since we kissed but…About my confession? Those feelings still haven’t gone away and I was wondering if maybe you’d like to try going on a date with me” he mused keeping his voice cool and calm so he didn’t speed through the question so she could understand him.

“If you break the door you have to fix it.” She replied playfully, smiling as he smirked at her. The mood shifted all of the sudden and her smile dropped to something more serious. Kate’s heart stopped beating, skipping around her chest before it started again like it never happened. The confession. His feelings for her. It had faded into the back of her mind after seeing Warren again. It felt less significant somehow. Burying that horrible thought, she put it away in its own box never to be revisited. Pietro was significant. He meant a lot to her. The speedster had been there for her when she had no one else to turn to and that meant more than anything Warren had done for her, or it should have at least. “You want to go on a date?” She asked, voice sounding more surprised than she actually was. This wasn’t the first time they had talked about his feelings for her, but it was the first time she was able to make a decision about them. Was it something she wanted to pursue? “Okay. As long as you don’t try to take me to the circus. I know what happens at the circus.” She joked, knowing that Pietro wouldn’t understand it on the same level that Clint would have if he were there.

She agreed with him and he lightly bit down on the inside of his cheek. Wondering if she was in the same position he was. Were they using the words fake date as a shield and those kids an excuse? He knew that he was. Deep down. He hadn’t asked her out as a joke but it felt a little easily like this. A little safer. The two of them could just say it was an inside joke to anyone who thought to ask. That they were fake dating as a way to have a little fun. He might even try to say that he was just treating his friend to a good meal because he was making something up to her. Leaving for so long and when he had- she wasn’t happy with him about that. Maybe this could simply be him trying to make up for it. Just a friend taking another friend to dinner. Or maybe… A part of him dared to think… maybe it could be more. His heart pounded and he could feel his feathers once again. Fluffing up under the fabric that hid them.

“Friday it is.” He said, before adding. “I’m glad your free.” She was being so casual about all of this and all he could do was try to act the same. “We can catch up. It’ll be fun.” Warren suggested. Already thinking about what suit he might wear. Maybe a purple tie, too? To try and match her favourite colour. He glanced down his drink before sneaking another peak at her through his dark lashes. When she asked what time, he brought the glass to his lips. Giving the question a moment to give the allusion that he wasn’t too eager to answer it. “I can pick you up at 6.” The man suggested before giving her a smile. “I’ll make the reservation tomorrow.” Or the moment he got home.

I’m glad you’re free. What did that mean? Was it like I’m glad you’re free so that we can hangout and have this fake date that’s super fake and not real and never could be real, or was it I’m glad you’re free so that we can spend time together after I disappeared without so much as a word because I missed you? The thoughts spun around her mind creating a tornado of insecurity and hesitance. She was swept away by it, unsure of what was what anymore. It was confusing. She worried that she was the only one feeling that way though. Warren was acting as cool and level-headed as always with no indication that he was questioning anything. To him it was just a fake date and he was just glad she was free so that they could hangout as friends. The thought stung, sharp as the point of one of her arrows. It shouldn’t have hurt to be friends.

“Yeah, cause you have a lot to tell me. I want to hear about your trip and about that donor.” She teased, pushing all the playfulness she could into her tone to distract herself from the flurry of thoughts that continued to pelt her despite her best efforts to keep them out. “She seemed...” Kate took a breath, trying to find the right word to describe the blonde who had gotten them into this mess. “...lovely.” The polite, all too fake smile appeared on her lips again, never meeting her eyes as she let out the breath. “Can you give me an idea of what I need to wear when you make the reservation?” She asked, already having a dress in mind for the date. Taking a sip from the glass she held in her hand, she didn’t let her lips leave the rim until she had finished half of it. Maybe a little too quick, but she needed the liquid courage to drown out all the thoughts and feelings. She didn’t want to feel it all so strongly when he was less than an arms reach away.

She said the same thing that he had at the same time as him and he couldn’t help but let out a laugh. “Glad we’re on the same page.” He replied, leaning in only a little as he spoke to her. Knowing that he shouldn’t be so close but also not really wanting to yell over the sounds of everyone around them. Going about their own lives… completely unaware of the two of them and the growing energy between them. He felt himself draw in a breath and hold it as she repeated his words. Had he really just dared to say that to her? It sounded even more like a date when it was repeated back to him. Her large, owlish eyes staring back into his inquisitively. He could feel his throat and chest beginning to ache the longer he held that breath. Trapped in that moment with her. The two of them going over what he’d essentially just asked her. Alone in their own minds. God only knew what Kate could have been thinking. Did she think it was stupid of him to ask? Wasn’t she still angry that he abandoned her to begin with? It must have seemed crazy to her that he was suddenly asking her out after all that time apart. He hadn’t even meant to ask it. It was like his thoughts- what he’d wanted for months- had just fallen out of him. Presenting itself as a playful joke when really it meant so much more than that. Jean would smack him upside of the head for acting like an idiot. He let out his own breath after she’d taken one. Finally, she spoke again. Clarifying the word fake… which made perfect sense in the context of the conversation but still for some reason pierced him like one of her arrows. “Yeah! Well uh- anything for those mutant kids. Right?” He found himself stammering like a fool before they were luckily interrupted by their drinks getting there. He tore his blue gaze from her and swallowed his nerves. “How’s Friday night?”

“Right.” She agreed with a nod. Anything for those mutant kids. That wasn’t the reason she had agreed to go on a fake date with him though. Admitting that, even to herself, felt like crossing a line she couldn’t come from back though. It was easier to pretend like this had nothing to do with the way Warren made her feel, the way she felt like they were the only two in the room when they were close like this with his breath a featherlight touch against her cheek. Pretending was good. It kept her from having to face the fact that despite how much she tried to convince herself that Warren was just her friend, it didn’t feel like he was. There was more between them than friendly banter. The stolen kisses and hidden glances enough to prove that. But instead she pretended. Because it was easier; easier than feeling her heart crack every time she saw him entertaining another woman or than swallowing the lump that formed in her throat each time she had to hear about his latest escapade before it could turn to tears right in front of him.

Warren severed the connection when his eyes tore away from hers and it was only then that she realized she must have been leaning in. “I’m free Friday.” She cleared her throat, moving her head away from his again as she tried to remember any plans that she had made. If there were any, they didn’t matter anymore because she couldn’t remember them. This was going to be more entertaining and who would want to take money away from the kids that Warren was helping? Not her. “What time?” She asked, reaching for the drink, happy to have something else to keep her attention.

Being too close to her had been dangerous, he needed to make space between them. Not that he wanted to. He could feel himself slipping right back into the place they were before he’d left. He was drawn to her in a way he couldn’t seem to shake off. It wasn’t like this with most people. With most girls. Being with other people was easy and fun. He didn’t have to worry about ruining everything with another kiss or a desperate touch… because he wasn’t desperate for anyone besides Kate. His heart pounded when he saw her and his stomach turned with nerves. Never feeling sure enough of himself to take the leap he wanted to be with her. Which was a strange feeling… considering his confidence when it came to everyone else. He knew how beautiful he was. How easy it was to get someone to fall under his spell. He’d never expected to be under someone else’s. She was just so magnificent. So strong willed. So… strangely unreachable while in the same breath: being within grasp. All he’d have to do is cross that ever so tempting line. He just couldn’t bring himself to do it. Not yet.

Warren shot her a reassuring smile as they made their way to the bar. It took him no time at all to grad the bartenders attention and order their drinks. And now here they were, alone together in a crowded room. With nothing besides the thumping music to distract themselves from the other person. He’d have to tell her eventually about his trip and about why he’d asked her to fake a relationship with him. They’d have to talk about real things but he was content with the small talk for now. He let out a soft laugh when she said she didn’t want to take away from the escorts. “It’s for the best. No one would be able to afford being your fake boyfriend, anyway.” He paused, “Except maybe me. Maybe we should do this again sometime.” He added before shooting her a smile. “Only… maybe in a nicer place.” He said after looking around. “…Like a restaurant.” He said before he could stop himself. The implication of a date hanging in the air between them.

“Maybe you.” She said in the same breath as he did, eyes widening as their minds travelled to the same place. Letting out a soft laugh, she tried to keep the nervousness out of the sound. Kate’s eyes moved from the bartender to Warren, widening in surprise of the suggestion. It sounded dangerously close to a date, something that friends didn’t do. “Like a restaurant?” Her lips moved before she could think to stop the question that escaped from between them. Eyes searching the bar for an answer she wouldn’t receive from it, they moved to Warren, seeking just the same. Her pulse picked up again as her heart slammed against her ribs. There was a fluttering in her stomach, capturing the feeling of a stuck hummingbird looking for an escape. It felt like an overreaction to say the least. There was no way he meant it the way that it had come out. It had to have been a joke, just more banter between them. Yeah, that had to be it. Kate just needed to get used to his teasing again after so long without it. She was just overthinking. Taking a breath, she filled her lungs, focusing on it to try and calm the rest of her body. When it felt like she could speak again without throwing up, she offered a playful smile. “Fine, I’ll go on a fake date with you as my fake boyfriend if you make a donation to your own organization for the same price as the date.” It only seemed far since he got the idea trying to escape someone who was going to donate.
