Create people is the result of researching gender stereotypes for an entire semester within my senior seminar class.  After looking at multiple case studies and gathering information, I had concluded that while we have made monumental progress when it comes to gender rights and equality, we still have some deep seated connotations and denotations when it comes to gender.  I concluded that the issue at hand couldn’t be solved within one foul swoop, but had to be discussed within masses of people in order to make any progress.  With this in mind, I needed to create a solution that addressed the issue without actually talking about the issue, to keep it ambiguous, and unified, while still presenting individualism.  Create people is an art project that allows those who wish to participate in this discussion to submit photos of themselves, as well as personal experiences to a group of artists.  The artists would then take the submitted materials and create individual collages with varying styles and images.  The finalized collages would then be uploaded to the website and be available to download, and use for customizable items.  Create people would also be converted into a zine in order to constantly be publishing art and stories from those who have submitted.  Create People’s ultimate intention is to get people to ask why we still have these stereotypes and biases when we should be viewing each other simply as people, and not assumptions.
With this rebrand, I wanted to go in a direction most pizza places aren’t.  With the word “artisanal” being thrown around so much, it loses its actual context. I wanted Sbarros to be a brand that was being completely honest about what pizza is and isn’t.  Pizza doesn’t need to have some sort of fancy gimmick to be it good.  Just make good pizza.  With the aesthetic choices, I wanted it to be bold and loud, in homage to its humble beginnings in Brooklyn, New York.  Sbarros rebrand. Branding II. 2016.Â
For this project, we had to choose a section of dialogue between two or more figures from any source of our choosing.  We then had to observe the connotations, denotations of the dialogue and create a deliverable that made the tone of voice evident. I chose a small portion of the poem, The Walrus and The Carpenter from Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass. Type III. 2016. Â
Greek God Abecedarians. This themed set of abecedarians was collaged together from found images, and scanned into photoshop. Â This group follows the same simple formula of many children's letter books, such as Z is for Zeus, and H is for Hera. Â Type III. 2016.Â
Unconventional Type Study. The point of this project was to create a letter form from unconventional materials in order to start understanding experimental typography. Type III. 2016.Â
Bubble map posters campaign. Â The concept behind this was New Orleans diversity, and differentiating attractions. Â With there being so many options, tourists may become overwhelmed, and stuck while planning their trips. Â So this was my solution to the problem. Â Multiple posters that each touch on a different part that New Orleans is known for and creating a sort of choose your own adventure type of experience. Â Advertising Design. 2016.
Print and billboard ad for Burt’s Bees. The concept behind this was to let Burt’s voice speak through to the audience, rather than letting the product speak for itself.  While the company wasn’t founded by Burt, and essentially used his face as a mascot, many of his beliefs and values are what built the company to be what it is. Advertising Design. 2016.Â
RIO Music application screens. This was part of a much bigger group project for my New Media class, I was to design the newsfeed screens and the share feature screens. New Media. 2015.Â
Rebrand of Dodd’s Records in Grand Rapids, MI.  Dodd’s Records is one of the oldest record stores in Michigan still in business.  For this rebrand, I wanted to give Dodd’s a nostalgic, retro feeling of the 1950′s when it first opened its doors.  Â
