What's better, TB awareness or ethically sourced coffee?
I am a very, very big fan of our coffee, but...
If everyone in wealthy countries understood that TB has killed FORTY MILLION PEOPLE since the year 2000, and if everyone in wealthy countries was angry and disgusted by the ongoing horror of underfunded research and treatment distribution, then TB death rates would decline by 60 or 70% over the next decade, simply because more resources would be devoted to finding new treatments and effectively distributing current ones. (We've seen this happen before! Look at HIV/AIDS death between 2005 and 2015! They fell by over 50%, not primarily because of new treatments but because of a dramatic expansion of existing treatments. Same thing could happen with TB.)
Like, we might lose 20 million people in the 2030s to TB, not because it's an impossible problem to solve but because we do not treat the problems of impoverished communities the way we treat the problems of rich communities.
So yeah, TB awareness (and activism! and fundraising! and advocacy for patients!) is vastly, vastly more important than the world's best coffee.
It turns out strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is actually a great basis for a system of government.
I'm still not picking up that damn sword. Rex needs to talk to his aunt about her aim.
well, that went better than expected
now to hope the landlord never finds out about my new friend, because im not about to pay a pet deposit for him
Have a little faith in your sister, huh?
this is your daily encouragement to bring more chaos into the world
order that extra weird coffee. tip in an amount that leaves people baffled.

Sweet! Will we be back in time for class tomorrow, do you think?

assuming no one tries to get in our way
…..Should we tell the roomie, or would he just worry?
…..you know what, lets bring him with us
itll be fun
Ten bucks says he tries to pet the "puppy". XD

A pair of particularly enthusiastic pasties?
Trust me, girls, this is gonna be hilarious in a few years~
Embroidery 101
Introduction:
Embroidery is a craft that uses thread to decorate fabric (and other materials). It’s a great way to spruce up a garment, customise objects, and to hide mends you’ve made!
Embroidery is usually done with embroidery floss, but depending on the base material you’re working on, you could also use yarn, ribbons, or plain old sewing thread. Don’t be afraid to experiment!
Embroidery is easier to do on taut fabric than limp fabric. That’s why most people use embroidery hoops. While not strictly necessary, a hoop will make your life so much easier.
Using the right needle will help, too. Use a crewel needle if you’re working with embroidery floss, a chenille needle if you’re working with ribbon or yarn, or a tapestry needle if you’re doing cross-stitch embroidery on open-weave fabrics.
While there are many types of embroidery from all over the world, this post will focus on some basic stitches you can use in your own work.
Basic embroidery stitches:
For a more thorough overview of embroidery stitches, check out these embroidery tutorials by Mary Corbet’s Needle ‘n Thread.
The following images show some of the most basic stitches:
The 16 stitches in the images above can be combined into any shape or form you want. You might recognise some from my hand sewing post: embroidery is a type of hand sewing, after all.
You don’t need to know all of these to be able to make beautiful things. Even just one of these is a great start for a project.
This sampler by Sew Nancy shows how these basic stitches can be used to outline shapes or form flowers, for example.

Fiorelila used a combination of the stem stitch, satin stitch, lazy daisy, and french knots to spruce up this sweater:

And this person used lazy daisies to add some flair to their jeans:

Embroidery for visible mending:
Embroidery is a useful tool to hide mends you’ve made, or to even accentuate them if that’s your style. This is called visible mending. While this is a topic that deserves a post on its own, here are some quick examples:
Like this fix by Redditor Takemythyme who embroidered a rose over a hole in a knit fabric:

Or like how this person has spruced up their jeans repairs with embroidery:
In this example, The Woolery Guy chose to use flower embroidery to make a hole in a knit fabric look like it was there by design:

For more examples, check out Pinterest or VisibleMending.com.
Conclusion:
Embroidery is a useful skill to give new life to your wardrobe. You can use it to give some flair to items you’ve grown bored off, or even to mend your clothes.
Once you’ve got a few basic stitches under your belt, the possibilities are endless. Be creative and have fun with it!
Good luck and feel free to show me your work!

So, awkward.... after bringing me the chocolate chips, the roomie decided to study at the kitchen table as extra security against Mulder. Fine, right? But then he started humming this song I haven't heard in ages and I forgot my voice isn't what it used to be and started singing along. RIP me.
On the plus side, I got all the cookies baked in time for the morning rush and Mulder didn't swipe any of them until they were no longer my responsibility.

dont mind me just eating chocolate chips in bed
Those aren't the ones for tomorrow's batch of cookies, right?
...........no?
Sigh....is the roomie home, or should I text him to run to the grocery store to get more?
pretty sure he went to the library to study
id offer to go to the store myself, but im still not welcome back
They'll have to unban you eventually.
Okay, I've texted Sweets, so hopefully he's not so deep in studying that he doesn't even see it.
theoretically yes, since it wasnt my fault
its probably gonna be at least another year though
Might be less. I have it on good authority that the woman who attacked you demanded to see the manager and ended up with a lifetime ban.
