In accordance with Richard's will and generally accepted conventions, he is tasked with arranging a match for Hermione Granger. This wouldn't be a problem if his adoptive daughter didn't have her own fortune and wasn't reluctant to marry anyone.

Horcrux Volunteer Summary - We all know that Tom Riddle was extremely handsome and charismatic when he was at Hogwarts, and until he was in middle age, before he was defeated by the sacrifice of Love by Lily and Harry Potter, which turned him into a wraith. How many witches and/or wizards fell hopelessly in love with Tom Riddle | Voldemort, or obsessed over him during his early life? And would that devotion have ever been reciprocated by him, or would it have only ever been exploited by him? What if someone who was that obsessively infatuated to the point of self destruction, learned about Tom Riddle's Horcruxes, or of his desire to make Horcruxes? I'm slowly losing the motivation to continue pursuing my dreams. I've always wanted to write, but increasingly, I see what I've written so far as mere scribbling. I'm starting to believe more and more that no matter how much effort I put into what I do, there will be no improvement… That's why I want to slow down. The friendships in the Marauders Era weren't as close as we'd like

Fanon has romanticised the marauders era and made us, both Snape and Marauder stans, come to our own conclusions about how close the Marauders were, or Snape and Lily were. I hate to be that guy but none of those friendships are really that great.

The Marauders

There was a clear indication in the book that power wasn't shared equally between the Marauders. Sirius and James were the "leaders" and did whatever the hell they wanted, not caring who they hurt as long as they were getting entertainment out of it.

Remus probably didn't exactly find it amusing, but his debt to the Marauders, just for accepting him with his "gruesome" condition prevented him from using his authority as a prefect and due to him being a spineless coward (he had good reason to be one though) he could never tell James and Sirius to stop.

Then obviously, we come to Peter. It's almost explicit in canon that James kept the little rat around as an ego booster.

You know what's also a canon fact? Sirius and James thought Remus was Voldy's spy and they had good reason to think so. Why wouldn't their friend who had been used as a potential murder weapon turn against them? If I were Remus, I would. But then again, his gratitude to his "friends" wouldn't have let him betray them.

Who does it turn out to be though? The always neglected, Wormtail. They've never paused to consider his feelings, and took him for granted. Peter sided with whoever he thought was the most powerful, and he happened to think it was Voldemort, betraying his friends without a second thought. Why? Because the Marauders hadn't spared him a second thought either. Maybe they considered Peter as expendable, someone who they'd rather watch die not giving up the secret. Sirius was too precious to the Potters. No wonder Peter sided with Voldemort.

James and Sirius

This was an instance when two characters of the Marauders Era actually appear to be really close. I wouldn't call their friendship healthy or nice, but I would call it strong. They were both pitted against Slytherin for the life of them, and when Sirius ran away from his traditionally Slytherin family, James was only too glad to take him in. James was as arrogant as Sirius was impulsive, and this lead to their bullying of Snape and hexing random students, and actually enjoying it. James saved Sirius' ass from getting expelled in 5th year and I'm guessing Sirius was grateful. They're no Ron and Harry though.

Snape and Lily

Ah yes, the much hated and beloved Snily friendship. Even though I like Snape, I think he and Lily shouldn't even be considered "friends".

If Lily really cared about Snape, she would've stuck with him more and taught him to get rid of his toxic beliefs about muggleborns. Like Astoria changed Draco. I don't want to reduce Lily to "the girl who redeems the bad boy" but if there's any way to use your friendship in a nice way, it's to teach your friends racism is wrong. Lily tells Snape she doesn't like his Slytherin friends but doesn't make any more effort to maintain their friendship, and cuts it off completely with a classist remark when Snape is racist to her.

Also the question of how they became friends in the first place. Lily is fascinated by magic, and a boy who lives pretty close to her is also magic, and she sticks with him till she gets to go to Hogwarts and meets others in her house.

Snape isn't completely innocent in this friendship either. He idealises Lily to an unhealthy extent and she cannot possibly be all he wants her to be.

Lily x other Gryffindors

Lily listens to the other Gryffindors who constantly feed her information about how the Slytherins are lower than them (much like how Slytherins think Gryffindors are, actually) and groom her, like the Slytherins groomed Snape to believe muggleborns are evil. They are unaccepting and shallow and because of neither house changing their beliefs, it's a never ending cycle of hate that was eventually going to pull Snape and Lily apart, if either of them listened to their houses.

All these friendships are shallow, (to say the least,) and harmful.

The Marauders stans reject the canon and say they don’t give a damn about it or about JK Rowling unless the topic is bashing and hating on Severus Snape. In that case, every single comma in the canon suddenly matters to them so they can paint him as the biggest villain in history, and they can even tell you the exact page and line number. They hate the canon, but only when it doesn’t fit their narrative of whitewashing abusers and blaming victims.

No. Black Snape will make the marauders actions blatantly obvious to the point where not even marauder stans can pretend to ignore/ be oblivious.

Black Snape will be a stand-in metaphor to visually portray how vulnerable Snape actually was, because some of y'all like to ignore the fact that Severus Snape was a poor kid from a mill town that came to Hogwarts with the hopes and dreams of a better future and escaping an abusive alcoholic father and a mother that refused to leave the man that abused them both, therefore failing him too, only to be singled out on the train to said safe haven just because two privileged rich boys didn't like the fact that he existed. The same privileged brats that went on to not only bully him, but several other kids, attempted to murder him and then sexually assaulted him, all because was sorted into a house with a bad rep, and had to fit in with people he didn't necessarily agree with but protected him to a degree/ accepted him because they were trying to groom him into a cult.

Marauder stans refuse to see how a vulnerable child, (because yes, he was a CHILD) was forced to create spells to defend and protect himself because the administrative system (read: adults responsible for him) not only failed him so horrifically, they silenced him when he was almost murdered, did nothing about the bullying and SA, and even sided/ protected his abusers/ bullies.

What marauder stans refuse to accept is that dark magic is not inherently evil, the same way a gun isn't an evil weapon unless the wielder uses it so. Severus knowing dark magic at the age of eleven DOES NOT MAKE HIM EVIL.

You wouldn't look at a nerdy, shy, genius kid and call him evil just because he knows too much. That was Severus. Forced to use his genius to protect himself and then condemned for it, not only by his own so-called friend, but also m-stans who would rather bite their own hands off than admit that Severus Snape being played by a black actor strips away all delusion of Snape being evil and not just the imperfect victim that he was.
