@katiekelpies
Really funny one two punch on my dash this morning
What a mess. Can you imagine the dumpster truck finding this? Maybe it'll be bread by then.
is anyone else annoyed that "ai" encompasses both chatgpt and tools we train to do repetitive tedious work for us. and by the ripple effect of articles like "scientists develop ai to detect cancer early" that make people argue for the merit of chatgpt or become anti-medicine. and by the general state of the world and society
D&D has become so much more fun since it clicked for me that I'm not the character, I'm the writer in charge of the character
If you're the character, bad rolls and bad calls reflect badly on you. You want to Win because that means you're doing D&D right, and if things go wrong, it's because you're doing it wrong.
If you're the writer, your number one job is to do things to your character that the character does not like because that gives them the chance to be interesting.
deriding things as performative is anti third space
im sitting on a patio at my favorite cafe rn and im hand stitching them hem of a dress im working on. and i can see why someone would say im being performative by working on something like this in a public space. but frankly theres no element of that. i just want to work somewhere that isnt my apartment. i want to be in public, i wanna chat with strangers, i wanna see the world. it’s nice to hang out somewhere that isnt my home!
what i mean is when you say people are being performative you discourage them from doing shit they love in public. and thats no way to foster the world we want to see.
One of the most frequent requests we got in playtesting Eat God is a bigger Random Quirks table. This is the first of several planned expansions for playtest draft 0.8, previewing the 3xx entries (i.e., 311 through 366 on a d666); contributions from co-writers @ribstongrowback, Ashley Flanagan, and Zach Welhouse.
i feel like 344 should be 333 just for the bit
Right now they're just presented in the order in which they happened to be written, but now that you've pointed it out we're 100% doing that.
Getting started on the 4xxs.
(If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to chime in – we've got like a hundred slots left to fill if we're going to fill out a complete d666 table. You can find a PDF preview of the full list to date here if you want to avoid suggesting anything that's already there!)
Wrapping up the front half of the 4xxs, with thanks to certain parties who may recognise a few of their suggestions!
[ID: youtube comment from Hal Sawyer:
My favorite relic English still used everywhere is the word "the" used in phrases like: "the more I look at this, the stranger it seems, or "the bigger they come, the harder they fall". This "the" is not the article of any noun, it is a different word, a conjunction descended from the old English "þā", pronounced "tha" which means either "when" or "then". Back in early Middle English the structure "if - then" had not taken over and if you wanted to express an if - then relationship you said "þā whatever, þā whatever", meaning "when such-and- such, then such-and-such". "þā" sounds almost the same as "the" and the spelling of the two converged, but the meaning remained totally different. "the more, the merrier" literally means "when more, then merrier" or "if more, then merrier'; same as centuries ago.

this is so cool
they call me the text ignorer for reasons I'll probably explain to you in a few days or so
This is actually such a crucial part of healing from neglect and abuse and I have to add to this.
Because indeed, people who like you will not roll their eyes and sigh at the idea of accommodating your needs, they will value your voice and be upset with you about injustice done to you, not at you for "being difficult". They will be happy when you find a way to live a better life, and help you to get there. If you are struggling, someone who loves you wants to see you smile, not tell you to smile because "you have it so good".
I think I have gained from my traumaposting that sometimes, it is not a good idea to do it scared. Sometimes you are way, way too scared, and you should consider the possibility of finding a way to do it not scared, instead of doing it scared.
@chicorystart SCAREDOMETER I love that I'm stealing it
whoever's idea it was to have womens t-shirts have those tiny sleeves that go way up into the armpits must have done that maliciously
Really good bit from the new defunctland video
At that moment, the wall behind him would come down, and-
Oh my god.
😦It's HUGE! 😦It's SO BIG! 😟Why would they think this wasn't big enough❓ This could kill someone. Mezzatesta even said,
"This could kill someone."

It's 13 feet tall❗
It's 18 feet long❗
It's Eleven Thousand Pounds❗
☝️For our metric based audience, that is equal to:
Something that is huge, and enough to kill someone.
had a stress dream last night that maggie and i adopted a standard poodle and very quickly it began tearing our lives apart and had energy and physical ability we simply could NOT cope with and then the veterinarian called and was like "we got your dog's DNA results back" (nonsense plot bc this is a dream) "your poodle is actually not fully poodle. even thought it looks exactly like a poodle in every way, it's actually 80% belgian malinois." and i was like oh we are fucked
i need u to understand it looked like the most poodle poodle possible. i love dreams. the vet said "you have a malinois" and this was the dog:
still thinking about these guys
the point of pink camo is that it looks cute
no it's for concealment during combat operations in fantasy candy land type environments with bushes made of cotton candy and candy canes used as load bearing architectural elements. like the kart game in wreck it ralph. duhh.
its not funny but i do think about it a lot
This made me think about this panel from Calvin and Hobbes:
But unlike the adult in this strip, Calvin’s dad actually APOLOGIZED for yelling at him when he saw how guilty his kid was:
