OC STUFF

ocs - mostly just posts that remind me of my ocs. for SOME REASON i never used individual tags for each oc and i dont feel like starting now so. most of these are tagged with some variation of "THIS IS SO VEGA" or "oh this is fabian to me" or whatever 💀

I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE THIS AT SOME POINT AND ACTUALLY HAVE OC TAGS idk man maybe some day

proxima - my original sci-fi / fantasy world which i've had since i was about 13 years old! it combines my special interest of space (specifically exoplanets and stars) with my love of sci-fi and some anthropological and political explorations as well :D

analemma - my dnd world! mostly an inspiration tag or just random stuff that makes me think of it, but some ocs are tagged with it if theyre from analemma

dnd - general dnd tag, mostly for specifying that ocs are dnd ocs but i'll tag any post involving dnd with this one. im sorta going through some stuff with dnd rn, probably wont post a ton about my characters atm but we'll see what the future holds

I also think that the strength gap is at least partially manufactured women would in fact be stronger overall if little girls were encouraged to do physically taxing games and activities and eat their fill while they’re growing vs having to constantly diet and be sedentary indoors (or god forbid do intense cardio while under-eating). The amount of adult women honestly afraid to lift weights bc they think they’ll get bulky as though bulking isn’t a full time job that athletes have to spend all their time on and anyone on earth gets shredded from just using their adult muscles for their intended purpose, girl your bone density 🥀

if you say women are intentionally nerfed from birth in 2026 people look at you like you’re insane and start condescendingly telling you about how women are just better at different things (but not during their periods haha) but this was a completely basic feminist talking point I grew up with like “girls can do it too! One of the most frustrating things about being ADHD is the way hyperfixations and skill levels work.

So I, an ADHD person, will get obsessed with A Thing. I will research, I will practice. I'll check out library books, watch YouTube videos, seek out podcasts, all to learn everything I can about The Thing.

Thiat Thing is often a skill or hobby. Painting, writing, candlemaking, baking, mixology, tea blending.

But the thing with ADHD is that you'll be obsessed with it only to a certain skill level. Something where all the mystery is gone. It's not as fun once the learning part is over and it's just boring practice to get better.

Then abruptly, you'll lose interest and move to another fixation.

That skill level you've earned may be higher than your average person with a passing interest. But it's also lower than someone who specializes in said thing, who has put in those hard hours of practice and work.

So you start just forming this miscellaneous collection of things that you're good enough at to earn some praise, but still leave you feeling like you're just never *quite* good enough at anything because you can't just choose anything.

And you want to pick a Thing. To find Your Thing. The thing that fits, that you can finally excel at. But you just can't seem to.

This is very true and a great post.

But low key makes me think about how people with adhd have been raised their whole lives to value a day based on what they accomplished vs what they experienced

I think your point is excellent. But also consider:

That list might say things like “Paint a picture. Go birdwatching. Finish that great novel I started reading. Call my grandma. Learn to bake a cake. Visit my sister. Play piano.”

For me at least, the good/fun things are harder without meds too. I can have the best intentions, but following through is hard.
