Tony and Nebula’s relationship was so short-lived but so important to me?? like, Tony taught her a silly little game. and obviously it was about passing the time and distracting themselves from their imminent demise, but he taught her a game that was just for fun. has Nebula ever been able to just have fun and play games and enjoy herself? and he was so patient and kind with her as he taught her the rules.

and then, he went and let her WIN. Nebula has never been able to win anything in her life and she clearly was so baffled when Tony told her she won.

like in that short time they knew each other Tony let Nebula learn how to do something just for fun and let her win and congratulated her for it and it’s just messing me up thinking about how important that interaction must have been for her

Tony tried to show Nebula that she could have fun even in the most disappointing situation, something she hadn’t been offered without fighting before. Nebula quietly took care of Tony even when the odds weren’t great, something he has a hit-and-miss track record with for the most part. He offered her the last pieces of food and she carried him to the pilot’s seat where he could rest better. Two people who had been termed selfish and not most suitable for teams made sure they survived together with so much care for each other.
